My button on my TV remote no longer works and I don't know how to program my TV for my Directv remote.
Direct TV should have instructions for programming your remote to operate your TV. You may have to try several codes for your TV brand. Then you may have to play with the remote buttons to find the one that affects the Input function. OR buy a new universal remote that has an input button and follow the enclosed instructions for programming. Shouldn't be too expensive. Good luck.
There should be an input button on the side of your tv. It will be by the power, channel and volume buttons.
I recommend getting a universal remote to replace your tv remote.

Sounds like the IR pickup has gone bad or the supply voltages feeding it are opened. Sometimes cleaning the screen with windex it tends to drip inside as it follows the picture tube down into the set . Most of the time replacing the IR cures your problem. Good luck

You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones don't work. If you
don't have the original remote and can't find it ever then the only way to reach
your tv is through coaxial antenna port. So
you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your red yellow
and white cables (rca cables from a dvd, game console
etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a
coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4
and other channels are still working,

the sony rm-v310 universal remote solved my problem. its about 15 bucks and worked on my symphonic 20" tv. bestbuy should have one.

I think, after you have the rca jacks inserted into the tv and to the game you're playing, youshould be able to move the channel button down past channels 3 and 2. And or hit menu on the tv and look for setup. Try that!
