Dear, Sir/ Madam I just bought Singer Ce200 sewing & embroidery machine and have a problem installing the Futura software. Have been trying to find solution for the last two days and it has been quite a nightmare. I read hundreds of forums and feedbacks Wondered if you had an idea what the problem is and how it could be resolved! The PC I use is a actually laptop with Win Vista Home Premium. When I put the Futura cd it freezes at 100%, than I found the website which was ment to help installing it with Vista-www.futura-support.com- followed all the instructions and still can`t make it work. There is a message coming up and saying "Futura software is not installed in your computer. Install the application and repeat this set up". And that`s as much as it goes. I have tried it 5-6 times just today all the same result! Would be really greatful if you knew something more about It! I do not want to return the machine but if there is no possible solution will have to! Sincerely Verginiya
I found a solution that seemed to work for my setup (Vista-Futura 200): Go to the Futura support site www.futura-support.com . Choose "Service Updates" from the left-hand Menu. Choose "Quantum® FUTURA™ (CE-200) Owners running Windows XP Service Pack 2 operating system WITH one or more of the Options (AutoPunch, CrossStitch, PhotoStitch, and HyperFont) installed". Look for the bullet-point list in the explanations. It says there: "If you own the AutoPunch Option and you could not successfully install it, download the Service Update by clicking here." Select the highlighted link, download the patch and install it. Worked fine for me, I hope it helps you, too.
Hello,
I have the Futura CE200, and have almost thrown it out the window with frustration!
I was having a problem that I could install futura, but not autopunch, after trailing forums and speaking to singer USA and UK, one month later I finally got an answer that worked.
The problem on mine was that AVG was stopping it from installing properly. So I uninstalled AVG and Futura, and started again, and finally it worked, over a month from when I started having the problems.
Singer were frankly not much help, although they suggested AVG might be a problem, that took a month to get to that response, before that they kept sending me the same advice over and over again, and each time I made it clear what was wrong, but they still kept sending me the same answer.
Anyway its sorted now, and I thought I'd post this just incase anyone is still having problems, it's worth a try anyway.
And if it doesn't work, you just need to install AVG again, so you haven't really lost anything.
Good Luck!
64 bit VISTA is not and will not be compatible with Singer Futura no matter what "patch" or download you may be told about.
Singer has no intentions of making this product compatible with 64 bit.
Straight from the horses mouth....sorry...I just went through this too.
Time to upgrade my embroidery machine to a DIFFERENT brand that WILL support 64 bit Vista.
Try contacting 1-800-4-SINGER from 8-4 Central Time (they are open Monday through Friday). They have representatives there and to be honest with you, most are not all that willing to be helpful but after trying to install Futura on my computer with Windows Vista for a couple of weeks (along with my husband who is pretty technologically adept) I called them and INSISTED they walk me through the installation process. Don't let them blow you off, keep them on the phone and let them guide you through each step. You probably should have the patch for Vista Service Pack 2 already downloaded to your desktop ahead of time, though. Good luck! I have been there...
I have had to install the program a second time after computer problems. (I have Vista and was getting the USB connection error message). Go to the website, print out the directions (the ones from last year about August are the older version). Save the patches 1- Futura Vista Compatibility Patch and 2- Futura Service Pack 2 Auto Punch Option on your desktop. Install the regular program with the machine off, and follow the steps in the EXACT order it says (even down to when you say no to view tutorial and close out of the Windows menus). The Vista Compatiblilty Patch is for after you install the base program. If you did it correctly, it will ask you to turn on the machine before it says "finish". (If not, you may as well uninstall the program and then try again). If it works, keep it on when you restart your computer to finish the Compatiblity Patch. Then, go in exact order for the other steps. The Auto Punch Option patch is for after you insall other options (Hyperfont, etc). Pay attention to when you do each step and have the machine turned off and on at the right times. I did this myself even though the other time my computer failed, I had to call Singer for help! Good luck!

I'm afraid that I must disagree with the above statement that CE-200 software will not work with 64 bit versions; that is plainly not true, however, while CE-200 software will work on Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 32 bit machines, you MUST purchase the CE-250 upgrade software to get it to work in 64 bit.
The AutoPunch issue and the CE-200 is a separate issue, and is true regardless of ANY version of Windows, be it 32 bit or 64 bit. On any version, after the basic software is installed, but before AutoPunch is installed, the software driver must install in Windows by plugging in the USB cables and turning the machine on and getting the "New Hardware Found" message. After that, the AutoPunch PATCH must be run, THEN the AutoPunch software can be run and will install. The first time that the basic software comes up, a box will ask for the AutoPunch access code, but only once.
There is NO access code for any other software for any version, and there is NONE for the XP software--basic or add-on.

Vista is notorious for being flaky regarding embroidery software etc.....have you had advice from the Singer Dealer where you bought the machine ?
Find your local dealer HERE
Singer USA Customer Support should have solutions for these things by now too and I recommend you hound them if they cannot easily suggest what to do. Vista is some years old now, not the first few weeks of release !
SOURCE: what embroidery download formats can be used on singer ce200
It depends on your software version. The list of supported formats could be found in the manual, on Futura support site or checked right through the sofware menu (File->Open, File->Save as)

I am running windows vista premium home and trying to install the software for the Quantum Futura CE 200
I have followed the instructions from the futura support site, Auto punch will not install at all! I get an error message stating "internal error". The one time it did 'seem' to install it told me the cd key was invalid (which its not!!!!) I also get a message telling me that the 'machine is off or USB cable is not connected". I have spent hours searching online, reading forums and trying everything that they have suggested, NOTHING works!
Please help

I have tried to load the software for the Singer Quantum Futura CE200 sewing and embroidery machine but exactly as has been described happens ! I have not been able in 8 hrs of trying to get it to accept the software . I am running Vista home premium with MS office 2007 suite . If I cannot load the software I cannot use the machine for the purpose for which it was purchased and will have to return it . I have also read comments right across the net that the CE200 is a problematic machine ! Is this true ? Bridgette Devin ( [email protected] )
i have the same problem as the lady with the laptop only i have a desk top hp
Dear
I have a HP pavilion with Vista Home. I am trying to install my Futura software and it freezes up. I have installed the Vista compatibility patch and it still freezes up at the end of the install and will not go any further.
Thank you Debby

I had the same problem as described . Singer distirbution agent in SA came round to install and failed . THey took away the machine but maintained that the sewing machine was not faulty however in the next breath they offered to swap the demo CE200 for a brand new CE150 which is supposed to be th upgraded model of the CE200 . I shopped at the agents and was told that the CE350 is the update of the CE200 now I am confused . Singer will not verify the various models for me and quite candidly I do not trust anything they said . THey now have my machine , the agents I purchased from have my money since 21/01/2008 and to date I have no machine . If Singer fail to load the software on my laptop which is brand new and running Word 2007 with Vista home premium , what is my future with the product going to be like I ponder ? THere is no back up service that supports their errors free so each problem has to be paid for - not economic for me . I need advice wrt the models and whether I should even consider accepting their offer of the swap . I have never had a demo of the machine performing as they claim it does . Kind regards . I have the same problem freeze's up at 100%
I have Singer CE-150 purchased in April, 2008 and have not yet been able to load the software. I have new laptop with Vista. Everything is working finw, plenty of Ram, plenty of hard drive room. have e-mailed Singer num, erous times with no answer--just more questions. Can somwonw out there help me? At the end of installation it says "critical information could not be installed"
I have upgraded my PC to one that uses Windows Vista and now cannot load the Singer Quantum Futura CE200 software. It loads to the 100% and I have done all the things that Singer has given me to do following their instructions on the customer support website and an email they sent me. My computer is now telling me that it cannot find the drivers for the device. I have uninstalled, completely deleted everything Futura and reinstalled the software several times following Singers instructions to the letter..still not working. I have a phone number for Singer and will be calling tomorrow..they are already closed today. Will let you know how it turns out.
I talked with Singer after being on hold for nearly an hour. My particular problem is that the version of Windows Vista I have is 64 bits and not 32 bits. The Futura software is not compatible with the 64 bit system and Singer has no plan to change that, so be warned. I have loaded the software on my laptop..(Windows XP) and uninstalled service pack 2 and things seem to be operating ok. I guess I can't go online with the laptop anymore. Nice job Singer.
I have the 64 bit system also. I just spent time online with HP to try and figure something out. THey are not able to assist and sent me here. I love my new hp and when I read the requirements nothing was said about not being able to use a 64 bit system. How sad.
It's very upsetting that Singer will not get up to speed with the rest of the world and give us the clem driver for 64 bit computers. Had I known ahead of time I wouldn't have purchased a 64 bit computer to replace the dead 32 bit. Now what am I supposed to do!
Also have 64 bit Vista Ultimate and a Singer CE-350. One would think they would get around to getting a 64 bit driver.
I AM HAVING AN INSTALLATION PROBLEM. I FOLLOWED ALL THE DIRECTION AND IT TELLS ME I HAVE NOT LOADED THE PROGRAM.
I fortuntely have a small (8 gb) laptop which still has Win 2000 on it to use for my Singer Quantum Futura CE 200. Otherwise, I would be out of luck! I have tried the patch on both my other laptops to no avail. This is very frusterating!
Yes, I just received my new Studio Dell Computer today and tired to load the CE 200 Singer Futura Software. It gets to 100 percent and hangs up, will not go any further, then it also tells me it is not installed. I try it again and the same thing happens. Is there a patch to update so it so the software can be used for the Vista operating system?
I ordered the recommended software which was the 2.5 upgrade version for Futura hoping that it would work with my Vista operating system.. I loaded the software just fine. Then I clicked on the program (Futura) to open it up, and I received a message, "Failed to Initialize Security" I have turned off all of my McAfee Security programs, and it still does not work. I clicked on the properties of the upgraded software and it did not even show it is compatible with Vista, only as high as Windowss XP (Service Pack 2). I hope I am not out the $99 dollars I paid for the new Futura software.
