I have a SONY KV30HS420 after off over night will not power up

The 6-time blink code for the Sony KE-42TS2U indicates a backlight error. This may be due to a faulty backlight inverter board, or a problem with the power supply to the backlight inverter board. It is recommended to have the TV serviced by a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

If it is PLASMA TV.....
brandon barnes mentions..there is usually nothing physically wrong with 6 blink tvs..you need to reset the TV using the original remote

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. probably needs filters cleaning or a new lamp replacement.

The Horizontal stage has stopped. It could be caused by excessive EHT and the set will shut down, the power supply is faulty or something more sinnister like an electrical leak on the output side of the EHT unit.

For the KV30HS420, 6 blinks, pause, 6 blinks, etc. means "LOW +B OCP/OVP (overcurrent/overvoltage)" and the probable cause locations listed are as follows:

1. +5 line is overloaded (A, B, M boards)
2. +5 line is shorted (A, B, M boards)
3. IC504 is faulty (A board)

was there a smell? it might be main transformer the front blinking led means the set in is safety mode and wont boot up because of a fault

Led blinking Three times means B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672. If you have electronic knowledge you may be able to fix it. Let me know if I could help you further.
