SOURCE: Sentry Safe (DSW3607 Model) Won't Open

I finally ignored the poorly-written instructions for programming a personal code and simply entered the factory code first and then pressed the prog/enter code button.  The safe opened.  The instructions tell you to push the prog/enter code first and then enter the factory code or personal code to open the safe.  Wrong!  Do it my way should this problem happen to you.

SOURCE: Can not lock door, works fine when open but will

Hi,

There might be 3 problems:
1. The door is not aligned anymore.
2. There is something in the frame where the lock goes in.
3. There is internal malfunction.

If you are sure about 1 and 2, you need to take it for service/repair.

Cheers

A locksmith would try to replace the batteries. Sometimes you will get the green light but the batteries still will not have enough power to retract the latch.

My sentry safe door is open, but the handle will not turn to lock the safe! also the combination dial will not turn! help

That is a puzzle.

If the handle won't turn, it means it is locked, but you say it is open. Are the locking bolts on the side of the door in or out? But if it is locked (bolts out), the dial should turn both ways.

You don't by any change have a key inserted into the back of the door? There is normally a key inside that allows you to change the combination numbers.

You don't see many with dials these days. Remove the inside door cover and see if you can see something amiss.

Sentry safe stuck in open position. I moved the handle before actually closing door. Bolts are stuck out. When I enter code, I get only error light.

Sounds like you may need to return it. I had a brand new one that did something similar then suddenly started working and has been working fine. My issue was that it was stuck open and the bolt did not close when I tried. Not sure what I dod. But I called support and they said to return it. Then it started working so I have kept it. Your issue sounds different and the spring may be gone or stuck.
