Coffee maker is flashing error, what do I do?

if i under stand it looks like you may have an error but i need more info and model every machine has it own history

Most coffee brewers has what is call "resistance" . This resistance get hot to boil the water then brew the coffee and in most cases the resistance get burn and dont brew.

External visual cleaning is not enough.
The coffee maker needs internal cleaning.
Please descale the machine to remove the error message.

It is advisable to remove that error message. One will not know when the functions will suddenly stop. This is like continuing to drive the car even when "No oil" message is on.
You have not stated the make and model for me to suggest how to get rid of the error message.

Error code 9 is temperature detected as too high or too low. Check NTC on boiler

NTC fault (component, bonding, connector, wires...)
Coffee leakage on NTC (resistor value)
