My hp officejet 4215v has an error message of 0xf0af8005 and flashing green and orange lights. Please help

That error indicates a power supply problem internally in the unit. You will need to call HP at 800-474-6836 to obtain the replacement part or get it replaced free under warranty.

1. Power light (or Alarm and Power lights) alternate(s) between orange and green
After long green flash, there are 2 or more alternating orange and green flashes. There may also be a Service Error message on the computer screen. 2. Alarm / Power light flashes orange 11 times consecutively (Automatic Print Head Alignment Error) 3. Alarm / Power light flashes orange 2 times consecutively (Load Paper / Paper Feed Error) 4. Alarm / Power light flashes orange 3 times consecutively (Paper Jam Error / Cover Error) 5. Alarm / Power light flashes orange 4 times consecutively (Out of Ink Error) 6. Alarm / Power light flashes orange 5 times consecutively (Print Head Error)

Solution Reset the product
  1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product
  2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
  3. Wait for the ' Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  5. Wait 60 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button (on button ).
  7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
  9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
if this does not work
you may need service from service centre

With that error code, I would assume the modem is dead. You could try to get it repaired, but it would probably be cheaper just to buy another unit.

Hi ,

This error relates to hardware problem.. i never faced this problem but heard lot of users talking about it .. as per HP techies it takes close to 150$ to recitify the problem which is almost a cost of new printer...

Would recoment to contact hardware manufacturer if the product is still under warranty....
