I bought a Black and Decker cordless Hedgetrimmer. Paper in the box claims I can register the tool on line. What the Hell is the matter with those guys? If you advertise the site shouldn't it work?

Perhaps yes but its fairly normal for companies to ask for email addresses etc for registration purposes. Usually they prefer to contact you via email instead of phone etc... As for selling your email addresses, probably unlikely for large companies but there should be fine print or terms of registration which would say this if they did.

That is correct. I found that I was required to register with Black and Decker on line as a member before I could register my tool. I guess they want more e-mail addresses for ad purposes or to sell to someone else for their ads.
