Kenmore 47779 double oven; lower oven doesn't work after self clean

Oven worked fine for over one year then the first time I used the self clean the bottom oven stopped working. I can turn on the oven, and it seems to get power however it does not provide heat;
1) I switched the heating elements with the top oven and the elements work in the top oven.
2) I switched the thermostat with the top oven and the top oven still works.
3) I visually inspected the control panel (inside the oven) and nothing appears burnt or unplugged
I am at a loss because all of the parts seem to work in the top oven however the bottom oven does not heat up any help is appreciated

I also had the bottom oven stop working after the first self clean cycle. Only 8 months old. If it is the thermal overload, can it be reset, or does it need t be replaced.

Exact same problem with my Kenmore double oven:

Used the self clean cycle for the first time, and it doesn't heat. The control panel works but not heat. The top oven is still working - but I haven't used the clean cycle on it yet.

At first the top oven would not work, after several months the bottom up and stopped working. I replaced the control board, the glass touch control panel as well as the L CD display and checked the red reset buttons behind grills on each oven but after doing all of this only the top of function. The bottom oven will not heat.

Model scd302tp - for several months the top oven would not heat up so we were using the bottom oven but yesterday the bottom up and stop working also. I replace the control board as well as the glass control panel on the front in the LCD display. I check the reset buttons behind the grills for both ovens. Now the top oven is working again, but the bottom oven will not heat up at all.

Sounds like a thermal overload has opened up during clean. It may be mounted on the back.

Have a Kenmore Elite Built-In oven 790.4812. It's a double oven. Was working fine. 1 year old. Wife self-cleaned upper oven for first time. Oven does not work now. Sears Repair guessing that the oven...

It has nothing to do with the tight fit.
It has everything to do with self-cleaning on ovens.
The thermal fuse blows due to extreme temperatures.
Replace the fuse to use the oven.
Use an oven cleaner to clean the oven OR replace more fuses in the future.

I bought a Kenmore Elite double oven 911.49059200 on an auction. Th upper oven works fine. The display on the lower oven seems to work but it will not heat up. Where do I start to check?

It appears your thermostat has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Delay or time bake

You can find the manual at www.managemyhome.com, and the instruction is on page 11.
You make sure the time is set correctly.
You press Bake, and set the temperature you want to bake.
You press Cook Time and enter the amount of time you want the oven to cook.
You press Delayed Start, and enter the clock time that you want the oven to start.

Oven locked and I don't know how to unlock

To unlock the oven. Switch the beaker off for 5 minutes. This will reset the integrated system. Turn the unit back on and if it doesn't unlock, set the unit for self clean and let it engage. Waite about one minute and cancel the self clean cycle. This should unlock the door(s).

Kenmore double oven

This is what f 7 means:

F7 A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Will need to replace the oven control. Part # is WB36T10486 for black and WB36T10488 for white. Cost is $314.75 for black and $417.99 for white. You can get it at http://www3.sears.com/.

Double oven

ovenman, there's not a complete model number here but in the Kenmore line F7 is the code for a stuck function switch or bad keypad. Makes sense that it's telling you to start the lower oven. Try removing the ribbon cable from the board and cleaning the ends with an eraser. Reseat it and see if the code comes back. Make sure to kill the power before doing this. Catriver..post back.
