This is generally caused by the magnetron overheating, you need to check the cooling motor for function and that the airways on the machine are not blocked as this is a commonly looked over reason for overheating magentron triggers.the other fault is a failed part

I think the word "fatal" in the error message indicates that the only repair available is replacement of the magnetron. As to the cause of the failure, my first guess would be a metal object or a ceramic with metal in the clay. Such objects cause a short-circuit within the microwave oven and often result in magnetron failure. Old age would be my second guess: either years or heavy use could result in magnetron failure.

Fatal is a word used by companies to scare you from serving yourself. This way their tech/company make service calls on back end. The above answer is correct, there is videos online, how to test magnetron, fans, motors ect. Process of elimination. If you still can't figure it out CALL the company, they will assist you in pinpointing the exact problem and give you the part number to replace. I call them all the time to 2nd my opinion before I spend companies money.

Sounds like a loose connection or a failing hood thermostat. That's right behind the control panel on the base plate. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://www3.sears.com/

SOURCE: error C5 and large noise in Amana RC22

the error is CS.... Current sensing error. The likely problem is a bad magnetron. The costly issue is there are three magnetrons in this unit.

Microwave not heating

It most likely is either a issue with the inverter (power supply) or the Magnatron (main unit) in this oven.

It could be a thermal fuse inside but the noise sounds more like Inverter or Magnatron.

If not a cheap unit have a shop take a look and get an estimate.

Amana microwave M#rcs10mpsa that had a loud hum that sounds like it was coming from the transformer or capacitor and then it blows the two control fuses. i replaced the magnatron but it is doing the same...

you need a meter than has the ability to check capacitors. These meters are generally more expensive like 150 bucks and mostly sold for HVAC techs. You disconnect all wires to the cap and connect your test leads. The hum is usually the transformer getting ready to die. Just keep using it until so. The transformer will run you about 130 bucks I think.

My micro turns on but won't heat up.

Two possible causes.

Has a broken fuse. remove outer cover and replace heavy duty fuse. Rassemble.

If the fuse is intact, the microwave lights up but does not heat then the main engine is damaged. Sometimes if nothing works including the lights it is a safety shutdown that will recover once the unit has recovered from an overheat. Make sure there is a good airflow and the oven is not overheating because its in a hutch or too close to the wall, reducing airflow.

Repairing a Magnatron, often exceeds the value of the unit. Microwaves can be bought second hand from pawnbrokers now cheaper than repairs.

hi my name is mark, that code stands for current sense.CS the following is a list of the possable things it could be. 1. interlock sw. 2.open thermal cut-out 3.open/loose wire 4.power relay 5.H.V. board 6.diode 7. magnetron 8.capacitor 9.transformer 10.triac it is worth fixing. RC22s are very expensive ovens if you need part #s i will need the serial # and P# [P132....M] to get correct parts. hope this helps. thaks for your question.

Amana radarange microwave oven 1000 watts not heating.

The two possible causes are a faulty door switch and a bad magnatron. You can pull the top cover off of the unit and check all of the door switches (there are 2-6 of them all on a common rail, me normally closed)). If the door switches all check out, replace the magnatron, diodes, and capacitor.

Microwave oven ACO1860AS

just aquired one just like it for free. they said no heat. took the outer cover off. about 12 screws. pull the main fuse and test it with a continuity tester.thats probably not it if the lights work. its either the magnatron (toshiba 2m248j(gs) or replacement part amana 8205460. mine was a coroded magnatron connection.unplugged it and pluged it back in. heats fine now. if you left it on with nothing in it for any length of time you blew the magnetron. universal magnatron replacements on ebay are $25. 4 screws and a 2 prong connector.

What is the error F6

Your owner's manual (see link below) suggests unplugging it for a few minutes then trying again. F6 is usually a problem in the controller / circuit board. If it still has the error message, it needs to be serviced. To find the Amana authorized servicer in your area, contact your local distributor or contact the Amana ComServ Support Center at 866-426-2621 or [email protected]. Microwave runs, stops and counts down, starts again, etc.

It sounds like its over heating or the magnatron or the Hi voltage transformer. if you open it and start it a fan should be cooling off the magnatron if its not then the fan is bad and thats your problem Worse case is that the power transformers drawing too much current and over heating and shutting down the first problem i explained though I've seen a hundred times. BUT BE very carefull as there is hi voltage inside this puppy and I've seen it grab and throw a grown man across the room!!!! if you know nothing about electrical or electronic devices its best that you leave this repair to a pro. Good Luck
