SOURCE: How do I disable double-click on an HP Pavilion dv4 touchpad?

Hi there Dublin. I recently bought a HP laptop myself, and I believe I can help your situation, or at least I hope I can. Here's what you do: Access your Control Panel>Click Mouse>Click Device Settings>Click Settings> Click Tapping> Click Disable Tapping. That should do the trick. You are not disabling your touch-pad, just the double-clicking that is associated with it. Drove me nuts for about a day, 'til I figured it out..Hope it worked for your notebook.

When I tap on the touch pad on a HP Pavilion dv7 cursor jumps

The touchpad is installed on HP notebook PCs.
You can "tap" and "double tap" your touchpad with your finger, and interact with the operating system in exactly the same way as clicking and double clicking on your mouse.
When using touchpad on your notebook PC, the cursor may jump, flicker, or double-click by itself.

Follow the recommendations in that HP document, or "disable" the TouchPad, if you don't like what it does.

How do i turn off zoom function of synaptics touch pad Hp laptop

Are you talking about the two finger zoom by spreading your fingers apart on the touchpad to zoom out or pinching them together to zoom back in?
This works for Dell touch pads so below where it says ‘Dell touchpad’ it probably says HP touchpad?

· Goto your control panel
· Click on ‘Mouse’
· Click on the ‘Dell touchpad’ tab
· On the resultant popup screen, double click on the main touch pad region
· Click on the ‘gestures’ setting
· Uncheck the zoom
Good luck…Chris

My toshiba touchpad is not working

1. Go to the "Control Panel" and double click on the "Mouse" item.
2. Go through the tabs in the "Mouse Properties" window & find the tab where you can set up your touchpad. This differs from laptop to another since it is based on the touchpad's drivers.
3. On that tab, check & make sure that your touchpad is enabled. If it is not, then change the setting to enabled.
4. Click "Apply" to apply the changes, then close the "Mouse Properties" window.

If you cannot find a tab to set up your touchpad, then your touchpad drivers might not be installed. In this case, you will need to install them first.

Most likely you have to double tap. Depending on the laptop make, sometimes double tapping isn't intergrated.
