Most chainsaws and small engines are 1.5 turns out.

You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn.

What the proper carb settings for husqvarana 51

The initial fuel mixture settings are 1-1/2 turns from seated on each.
  1. Set at best mixture after running,
  2. Set Idle speed at 2500 rpm
  3. Then for best at full throttle and not exceed 12500 rpm.
  4. If the engine want to go above 12500 rpm enrich the high mixture a little to limit the speed.

Husqvarna 55 chainsaw has a problem running on idle

start by checking all ur fuel lines for holes then proceed to clean or rebuild ur carb the ethonal in fuel is cloging small engine carb jets and making needles stick so then adjust ur carb back to factory settings try with new air filter as well and run 89octane or higher in your two stroke motors u will c a great differance in performance

My husqvarna 178 keeps cutting out on full throttle have tried to adjust the L and H settings with no success any ideas?

As far as i remember Husqvarna never produced a model 178, however if adjusting the mixture screws does not help there is either a fuel blockage in the fuel filter in the tank ( replace filter ), or the fuel screen in the carb ( strip clean and service carb ), check the fuel hose hose for splits or cracks, asthis will greatly effect the running

My 455 Rancher Husqvarna 20 inch chainsaw wont stay running while idling. its a brand new saw. don't know if it needed to be adjusted or if its pre adjusted already. Starts and runs fine but just won't...

Carb adjustmwnt requires a special tool and a tacho, the saw is set from the factory for the best emmisions, however it may need a small adjustment, this should be done by a qualified dealer, incorrect adjustments can damage the engine.

I need to set carb on a husqvarna 455 back to factory

Start with "H" and "L" 1 turn CCW from lightly seated. Then tune for performance like this.
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. HTH

Need to restore my 372xp chainsaw carb to factory settings. It had emission limiters fitted that have been removed.

The factory settings on both my 372's are 1 full turn on both high and low adjusters.

Husqvarna 51 from 1991 too much resistance to starting attempts

It sounds like it's sorta gummed up from old gas residue. You could spray carb cleaner in the spark plug hole and into the carb while holding the throttle open and pull the cord several times and then follow that with penetrating oil to re-lubricate the engine. You're probably going to have problems with the carb also. I would have it rebuilt or, better yet, purchase a new one
