Water works and ice maker works. The light also works. I've made sure that the "unlock" button is highlighted. Still won't dispense ice.
When you push the ice dispensing lever, you should be able to hear the micro-switch clicking. If no click, the switch is faulty. The auger motor which is activated by the lever could also be faulty. This is the motor that causes the auger in the ice bucket to rotate one way for crushed ice and the other way for cubes. The auger could also be jammed. Try switching between crushed and cubes to unjam the auger. Empty the ice bucket and start again.
I can move the motor by hand each way. I allso switched the two switches didnot work.The motor don't run on eather switch cubes or crushed

I have a problem with the ice maker . Theres no ice, no water. I've

I have a Kenmore Elite Model 106.58963703 and the ice maker clogs about once every three weeks. I have to take the ice out of the container and clean out the frozen ice stuck on the bottom. I then have to take the ice that is clogging the opening of the ice dispenser. What would cause the ice to clog the dispenser? I can hear it crushing the ice, but when it's clogged, it won't dispense.
The micro switches are held in place by cheap plastic tabs. If kids press too hard on the levers, when getting ice or water, the micro switch can be knocked out of place. take the face off the dispenser section, and examine the switches. press the switch to make sure ice and/or water is dispensed. I used some duct tape to put my switch back into place. works great.
Which way is that tab supposed to face - do you know? I knocked it off when cleaning before using. It shouldn't fall off that easily should it?

The power was off at my huose for 12 hours. When I removed the ice bucket I saw that water condensated and was now frozen around the shaft of the ice dispenser moter. The ice was prevent edthe motor shaft from turning.. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to loosen the 2 mouting bolts of the ice dispense motor approx 1/4 turn and all is well.
My wife thinks it's a miracle and that's all that matters!!!
Evaporator may need to be cleaned with a nickel safe - phosphoric and /or citric acid cleaner. Scale build-up on evaporator from water constantly flowing across it will prevent the sheet of ice from releasing. A mild scotch-brite cleaning pad with mild force to remove scale from the evaporator may also work. Follow up by running clean cycle to remove all dirt and contaminants from ice collection compartment.
I have a Kenmore Elite Trio with the freezer on the bottom. I am having problems with water spraying all over the freezer compartment, on occasion. What could be causing this?
I had a similiar problem that I was able to solve very inexpensively. The water in the ice maker was overfilling. First, I thawed the water dispenser trough with a hair dryer and cleaned the out the built up ice. Then I switch the cube size on the ice maker from "large" to "medium" and I have not had a problem since.

Take a hair dryer to the little black hose that despenses the water for your ice water. Sometimes it freezes.

check for a child lockout button it will look like a tiny padlock ,press and hold for 3 sec.(could be the freezer door light switch)

the ice maker unit prob' bad and if you sure it is on and the flag is not stoping it from runing you might need a new unit but there are other tests you can do before..

This may be a silly question, but do the gray plastic covers pull off? I tries to see these switches, put the dispenses covers are pretty tight.

im so frustrated too with my ice maker.. i don;'t even care what model it is. lol.. its a kenmore elite black with the freezer on the bottom.. its only 8 months old .. worked fine until every time the bucket gets full i empty it then it well not make ice again....

I have the Kenmore Elite 106.56684501. Not making ice. The red led is on steady when you hold in the flapper door. Not sure were to start?
The ice maker isn't working. The metal bar that goes up and down is stuck in the up position.
