The wiring diagram should be on the junction box cover. You can go on line and download the manual with this information. There are a lot of A.O. Smith motors out there.

New XtremepowerUS 2HP In-Ground Swimming Pool Pump Variable Speed 2 Inlet 230V High Flo w/ Slip-On Fitting, i turned it on after 2 mins switch from high to low then shut off and get very hot.

All electric motors run hot and pool pumps are no different. But how hot is too hot for a pool pump? The first test is simply whether you can touch the motor or not. Under normal operating conditions, the motor end of the pump is hot enough that you can barely touch it - but not searing hot.

Best to you.

Why will my 2 speed swamp cooler motor only work on high?

check your speed elector switch inside you home,. leave on low and go to roof and unplug the motor from the mating plug and check to see if you power there, if not start looking at incoming power to cooler. If it is switch replace it. You rally should think long and hard about checking power inside cooler, you could receive a lethal shock, or a shock to cause you lose your balance. AC power needs to be respected, it is not forgiving. perhaps call someone one.

What causes the evaporator cooler motor not to re-start after the motor gets hot

I believe the motor may have an internal thermostat that prevents it from damaging itself.

Pentair WhisperFlo 1hp, 230v, Dual Speed won't start in morning

If the high speed side of a two speed pump will not operate it is because there is a problem with the windings on the high side of the motor.
You will need to either take it to a motor shop and have them fix it or replace the complete motor.

I have a flo master xp2 / 48 frame / 230V / 2.5 hp / 2 speed spa pump. I accidentally hooked switched the high and common lines when wiring the electricity. The low line was done correctly, because they...

You shorted the 230 lines at the motor terminal board. If you are certain you have reset any and all breakers feeding the spa and that the 230V is getting back to the pump motor then you blew the winding leads as you shorted the motor. While it is possible a motor shop could repair the leads it is far more likely the damage caused will cause the price to be that or more of a replacement motor.

MasterCool 2 took a dive

Did you look at the unit. Maybe the belt broke or came off. Do you have voltage to motor. Need to follow the power to know where the problem is. Verify the breakers is good and there is power to the swamp cooler.

A frozen motor would not stop the pump from working. But the motor could have blown the breaker. Start by checking to make sure the power is good to the unit.
