A power surge due to lightening may have damaged the switching power supply. You will need to change the power supply module inside the TV. Normally, such power supplies have surge protection built-in, however, some surges are too powerful and could damage capacitors and crystals in the power supply module.
Take them to a TV repair centre as they are complex to repair. You may find that your homeowner insurance will pay for the repairs if you can demonstrate that it was a power surge that damage them.
Yes it received a massive surge from the transfer. You would need to replace your Insignia or try taking it to a Bestbuy which is a Bestbuy brand to have them fix the unit. Also try putting it on a really good surge protector as well.
make sure to plug in all major electronics and appliances to a very nice surge protector. If you have tried the TV in other outlets that you know work, and it doesnt display anything. It is probably power supply.
Check if it has a scrambled image on all sources ie - DVD- VCR - cable/satellite box. Since the PIP is normal it sounds like the signal source is bad.

common problem. sony makes a power suplly service kit that will repair it. cheap. the power supply is very efficient but ver sinsitive to power surges. easy ans cheap. good picture is worth fixing.
