It is more then likely overheating. Check that the fan isn't blocked by hair and/or dust. Blow compressed air into the fan to clear anything that could be causing it not to function correctly. Also, make sure you can hear the fan operating while the unit is on to make sure it has not failed.
You should never leave a gaming console on the floor due to buildup of dust/hair and cause it to overheat. This also applies to leaving it in a confined space as it will not have enough air available to expel the heat it creates while running.

Maby the games is scratched. If that is not why It is something in the wii that is wrong. It could could bee the lens. Try opening it up and see if something is broken. If you don't know what your doing call a tech support organization.
