The protection chip 8 pin I think is only a LM358.
You need to check the waveform on the gate of the power supply fets, sounds like this could be a problem. Make sure the gate has a nice square wave.

Fuse for power cable on earthquake PH D2

I would go with a 40 or 60 amp fuse, this should be ok, you will hardly every run the amp to full capacity so its better to be safe than sorry.

My amp earthquake ph d2 output mosfet number...rfp 40n10

Hello luistecnico2,

Those cross-reference OK. Go to www.mouser.com and do a search on both numbers. You'll find that one of them was manufactured by STMicroelectronics and is currently obsolete. The other is manufactured by Fairchild Semiconductor and is available at a cheaper price than the original.

Hope this helps.

Protection light goes on on Power up

same thing happened to me a while back it is one of the reistors inside the amp, when you took the turn it anything bumped it or it fell it might have broken off, shake it and see if anything inside rattles, if so then you need to take it to a repair shop or some who can solder

Protection

Check speaker load. You might try starting with a 4ohm load per channel. Only one speaker per channel and DON'T bridge. If it now works OK then you are on the trail of the right answer. Good luck. If it is a speaker load problem, then you need to correct this at once before you fry your amp. Good luck.
