Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the port on the DSL modem to the WAN/Internet port on the D-Link modem.

SOURCE: Configuring EDIMAX 6104 for Aztech 600E Router

Does your router automatically set the ip addresses for each computer, or do you have to set them up yourself? Is the computer that can connect the one that is directly connected to the modem? if it does and you asked windows to repair the connection it probably is messed up. check in the router settings to see if your pc's are on the same ip address route (e.g 192.168.x.x), but not all the same last digit; and the subnet masks are all the same (eg 255.255.255.0)

SOURCE: Linksys WRT54G wireless router not compatible with Aztech modem?

Darvin, gotta love your ISP. Never fear......

if it isn't too much of a problem (knowing you have wireless setup done already), then do a factory reset on your router ** remember to copy the WEP Key if you have, or recall the PASS PHRASE so you won't have to reset all wireless devices ** Reset is located on back, you need a ball point pen to reach the reset switch.

Reset process: unplug, take ballpoint pen & insert into reset switch & plug unit back in. Sometimes tricky, but you should notice green light goes to yellow/orange upon resetting.

RESET or NOT - you want the Linksys set for ::

Connection Type - AUTOMATIC (for automatic discovery)
Router IP Address - 192.168.2.1

DCHP - ON, Addresses - 192.168.2.100 and allow 5-50 users
(for security, assign the number of DESKTOP + WIRELESS expected users +1, this way you don't get overrun without knowlege)

Take the cable from Aztech ETHERNET OUT to WAN on Linksys. (usually BLUE) (??) not 100% sure as I have the little silver pocket edition of the same Router. - power cycle (turn both DSL modem & Linksys off for 20 seconds. turn on DSL Modem, wait till it's about as ready as possible, turn on Linksys, should only take 20-30 seconds to power up & recognize.

VERIFY SETTINGS: access router - 192.168.2.1, goto STATUS. you should see IP Addressing, SubNet, DNS1 & DNS2 settings. If you do not, then you have no internet connection.

ALTERNATIVE,

Setup Linksys Router with COnnection Type: PPoE, you will need your ISP assigned ID & Password. Follow all other instructions properly.

If you still have problems, please contact me at 906-495-1707 or via Yahoo IM [email protected] or through this website.

I have a D-link DSL-2750U router worked fine till yesterday, but now its power led keeps on giving a red light it should give green a second or two later but it keeps givings

Reset router. There are two resets. A simple push reboots and holding it in clears all custom settings. Try the first.

This is a quick fix and usually does it. Test with network cable and work your way backwards to modem if you still have problems.

My dlink dsl-2540u router not connect to the internet. Dsl led blinking & sometimes totaly off.

Contact your ISP immediately- the issue you have is called no sync. Basically with the DSL led going completely off- that would point to a bad modem, however the fact that you have no sync otherwise indicates your DSL provider may need to service your DSL line.

My DSL-2730B keeps dropping the internet connection. Can you pleae help me? Thank you, Paul Bryce

Since your using an adsl modem, possible that is a problem with your adsl box or your adsl line. I would suggest you to call your ISP so they can further check your line and also your adsl modem .

You may also contact dlink so they can perform a firmware update to your modem , below is the link for their website.

Internet connection fails through DLink router

Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) require that you "register" the 'MAC' (not an Apple --> Media Acquisition Control) address of the network-adapter of your computer (or router) with the ISP,
before the ISP will allow your computer (or router) to be provisioned.

Your router has a different MAC-address than your computer.
So, your computer works with its "registered" MAC-address,
but your router cannot connect with its "unregistered" MAC-address.

Access the web-server inside the router, and click the 'Clone MAC-address' button, and restart the router.

Then, the router will send the MAC-address of your computer, rather than its own MAC-address, to your ISP.

Using a ppoe connection to a DI-524 is it necessary to put a modem in line?

DSL connection:

Computer -> Router(Dlink) -> DSL Modem -> Telephone wall jack/outlet

OR

Computer -> DSL Modem -> Telephone wall jack/outlet

PPPOE = using a username/password combination to authenticate the connection to the ISP.

First I will need to know the type of ISP service you have, T1 - DSL - ADSL - CABLE - etc. And the connection type, STATIC IP - DYNAMIC IP - PPPOE - etc. BPCS
