Usually the PF keys at top of keyboard and try PF2 first, if not work, try PF8, then PF11, then PF12. but you have to use them when you are in the boot up phase before you see Windows logo opening. hit the key when the pc is starting up.. usually you can see the PF keys displayed at bottom of screen during the boot up(startup). one might say Boot or BIOS, which ever does that is the key to press.
keeping pressing it over and over when you see it, immediately. if the WIndows logo starts showing it is too late and you have to shut down and try again until you get the key to work.

How can i go in boot option

Normally when you power on your Toshiba Satellite laptop it attempts to boot the operating system installed on its hard drive.
In some instances you may want to boot the Satellite laptop from a different device, such as an operating system installation CD or a USB drive.
The boot order doesn't have to permanently be set to the hard drive.
It's possible to access the boot order before the operating system loads and change which device is set to boot first.

Turn off the Toshiba Satellite laptop.
Turn it back on immediately and wait for the "press the F2 key to enter Setup" entry to show up on the screen.
Press the "F2" key to access the Toshiba Satellite's BIOS menu.
Use the right arrow key to navigate to the BIOS tab labeled "Boot."

Scroll down to the option labeled "Boot Priority" and tap Enter.
Check through the list of devices and locate the specific device you want to use to Boot your Toshiba laptop, such as "CD-ROM," "USB" or "LAN."

Highlight the name of the device in the list and then tap Enter to make it the top boot priority.
Use the right arrow key again to scroll over to the "Exit" BIOS menu.

Tap the down arrow key to highlight the "Save and Exit" option.
Press Enter to save the new boot order and restart your Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Repeat the procedure when you want to change the boot order back to its original setting.

How to do i enter bios setup in toshiba 5205-s705

Hold down the F1 key, then, while continuing to hold it down, press the power switch. the system will turn on, then prompt you to check system and press F2 (thats from memory, it maybe F1 again) to enter BIOS.
With many Toshibas you can hold down any key to do this, as it simply generates a keyboard error, prompting the same message.
Hope this info helps.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 notebook. I've downloaded BIOS update for Satellite A135-S2276 ( v1.6, v1.4, v1.3, v.12, v.1.1) from csd.toshiba.com but I can't flash the bios. It just pop up error...

F2 key method Turn the computer on. If you see an invitation to press the F2 key to enter Setup, do so. The Setup screen will appear.
Toshiba Hardware utility method Run the Toshiba Hardware utility from the Toshiba Console. It may also accessible (as 'HWSetup') from the Windows Control Panel. Changes to some of the settings will require re-starting the computer. This method is the only way to access the BIOS settings on some notebook PCs (Satellite 5000 series, for example). (For these machines, pressing and holding the F12 key immediately after powering-on the notebook will allow you to alter the notebook's boot priority.)

If the Toshiba Hardware utility is not present, try the F2 key method and the Esc key method (see below). The Toshiba Hardware utility may be downloaded from the Toshiba support website at //support.toshiba.com
If the computer is fully off, and/or to avoid having to re-start it (and Windows), use one or the other of the following two methods. The PC will have to be truly off (not suspended, or in standby mode, or in hibernation mode). If an external keyboard is attached to the notebook (either directly or via a docking station or a port-replicator), disconnect it until you have completed this procedure.
Esc key method Turn the computer on. If you do not see a prompt to press the F2 key, then immediately press and hold the Esc key for three seconds, and then release it. When prompted to, press the F1 key. The Setup screen will appear.
