SOURCE: how do I retrieve messages left in the operator's voice mail?

If you pick up the handset and press the button it will call back whom ever left the message. (that extension you see.) If it is not the voice mail extension, it was just a request to have the receptionist call back. Doing so should clear the lamp.

SOURCE: I want to know if

What phone system is the 7130 attached to? Panasonic makes a TVA voice mail system that interfaces to a TA-624 or higher model that will give you individual mailboxes and a means to transfer calls to them.

Street price of a new TVA-50 is in the $600 range, but you can find an older TVS50 for less.

SOURCE: how to leave a voicemial message

There are three elements to voice mail; having a Panasonic brand voice mail system, recording the greetings, and setting call forward conditions. Which ones have you done?

The default access to voice mail is extension 500 on the intercom, but we used to use 165. When you dial it, the lady says "welcome to the Panasonic voice processing system". If she doesn't or you're asked for a password, or you have not done the tutorial, then you need to do that and it guides you to the setup of the greetings, name, and password change. After that, you dial *710x 500 (or your VM access) # on the inercom to set call forward to voice mail, with 4 being no answer (my preference since it gives me the option of answering the 2nd call or letting it fall to voice mail), or 5 for Busy/No Answer.

The message manager (mailbox 998) and the system owner (mailbox 999) has the ability to access and change how the voice mail system performs. The owner can change your name for the directory or reset your password and/or
setup or delete your mailbox.

How to set up voice mail

Verizon's voice mail service accepts messages for you when you are busy, or just don't want to answer the phone. The basic service will record up to 20 messages, with a three-minute maximum per message. The messages are held for 21 days, after which they are deleted automatically. Voice mail is usually included when you first activate your service, and you can check to see that you have voice mail from the "My Verizon" account area on the Verizon website. Once you have established you have voice mail on your account, you can set it up by programming it.

Need to reset nec phone

Easiest way to reset the phone is to unplug it then plug it back in. If you are talking about resetting the voicemail associated with the phone extension, that's a little more involved. If you need the voice mail reset, you need to have the voice mail administrator (typically the receptionist) go into his/her voice mail and choose the MGR option if using the display "softkeys" and follow the prompts to reset the users security code or voice mail acct. If softkeys aren't available, follow the voice prompts to "system manager" and either delete the security code or reset the extensions voice mail entirely.

How do I set up voicemail

If you have questions regarding voice mail such as
  • Configuring your Voice Mail for the first time
  • Desire to change the greeting
  • Unsure of the password
  • Wish to change the password
  • Would like to know how to access your voice mail from another phone

All of the above information regarding Voice Mail, which is a network service through your provider would require contacting your Service Provider for assistance. There are no settings for these issues which can be configured on the phone itself as it is part of the network services by your provider. For this reason, you should contact your Service Provider for assistance with this issue.

Depends on the voicemail, but generally:

Call the receptionist

When the auto attendant answers, press * (or sometimes "**"), OR ask the operator to transfer to your line and press "*" during your message.

It will ask you your login information.

Dial your extension and password together as one number and press #

You can now operate the voice mail.

Ringer/ Voicemail Bounceback

Well, this one is kinda tricky. If the receptionist knows there's no one there, they can use VoiceMail Transfer.

From the phone, the user can set CF Busy or CF Busy/No Answer with the following codes on the intercom:

Do Not Disturb *7101 / Cancel *7100

Call Forwarding2.gif (FWD)

– Both Calls *710
– Outside Calls *711
– Intercom Calls *712

2 (All calls) + phone no. + #/
3 (Busy) + phone no. + #/
4 (No Answer) + phone no. + #/
5 (Busy/No Answer) + phone no. + #/
7 (Follow Me) + your extension no./
8 (Follow Me Cancel) + your extension no.

So, if your voice mail is 500, you would dial *7105500# to set CF B/NA for intercom and outside calls.

The last piece of the puzzle is the timing. That's *713 (00-99). Start with 24 (4 rings) and go from there. If it hits the receptionist before the forward takes place, you probably have to adjust the recall timer for call transfer, a system program.

Inter-Tel Axxes phone outside calls don't go to voice mail

I had this same challenge with an InterTel 5000 system. Outside calls going right to the receptionist. My solution: You cannot fix this from a phone, you must open the DB Session Manager, move to Call Routing Tables (this is right above Voice Processor) and move all of your extensions above the "NO MATCH" and "EMPTY" lines on the bottom. Anything below those two lines will bypass the extension and go straight to the main attendant. At least in my configuration it does. See below...
bb752dc.jpg By just moving that last extension "5059" above the "NO MATCH" line, calls will now go to the extension from an outside caller. The trick is to hold your mouse on the pen icon and click several times to activate that line, then you can drag it to where you want. See below...
