I have an OLDER Pace Edwards Bedlocker and the motor won't work.
I read on another forum where they had a problem with some of their Brake Mechanisms failing.
"Easy fix. Just take 3 screws out from the side of the motor and the unit comes right off. The brake is added so that the bedlocker stays locked in-place once the pressure sensor shuts off the motor. Without it, the cover may activate with vibration of the moving vehicle."
You could also contact Pace Edwards at

& see what help they could offer.
BTW, did you check the fuse?
getting power to the entire unit. Even put a new fuse in the remote mechanism. You can hear it "click" but that's all. I have an older unit with NO release handle
At this point I would call Pace-Edwards at (800) 338-3697 and see what they would advise. (6:30 - 4:00 PST.)
Working with Pace Edwards right now... I'll post back if I find a solution

The motor is inaccessible on my unit without completely removing the entire unit from my truck
I do NOT have the manual operation lever on my unit. I have no idea how or even IF I can operate the blanket manually
According to the installation instructions, there IS an emergency release. "You will need to gain access to the release handle located
"You will need to gain access to the release handle located on the driver side of the canister at the front of the truck bed. Once you have access to it, pull the handle out away from the canister and pull out the handle kickstand behind it."
You can d/l a copy of teh installation instructions here:

I would imagine that you will need to drop the tailgate, and crawl up into the bed under the cover to release the realse handle. (Get your son, son-in-law, neighbor kid, etc. to do it. :-)
