Whirlpool dryer leq8611lw0 shakes violently and makes loud noise

Then drum turns, the clothes dry, but it shakes so badly if something is on top the shaking will knock it off. Very loud noise also. Sounds like it may be coming from the drum ?!?

Something must be inside the blower wheel. I cannot imagine why it would shake like that. This dryer has 4 wheels instead of 2 so it oughta be stable. The only thing to do is get inside the machine and see what is causing it. The dryer with a filter inside is also sometimes known as a series 90 dryer. Look for some series 90 dryer videos on youtube. Like this crappy one I made:

SOURCE: Dryer is making loud thumping noise.

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.

SOURCE: whirlpool dryer making noise and shaking! The bin

The dryer has "rollers" underneath the dryer drum that support and allow the drum to roll smoothly when drying.
I believe one or both of your rollers are worn out. In either case, make sure you replace them all or you will be doing this again in the near future when the other one decides to fail.
Below is a diagram of the rollers ( #44 ) that need to be checked and replaced.

Last week, I started the dryer and as the drum turned, the dryer made a shrieking sound as loud as a fire engine siren. The noise has now changed to a loud rumbling, like a truck engine, whenever we turn...

What is the make and model? This could be the belt slipping, the idler pulley worn out, the fan may have come off the shaft to the motor, something stuck between the drum and the housing or the bearing on the drum. To check these things, lift the top off after you unplug it. The top clips onto the sides and the front and you have to lift hard to get it loose. If you pry on it be careful not to damage the paint.

GE 5 Cycle Automatic Heavy Duty Extra Large loud noise

All ge dryers have a center bearing on the back side of the drum and drum glides on the frontside. The glides make a scrubbing sound when bad and the drum is hard to turn. The rear bearing does a squeak thang when the plastic bearing wears thin and begins to make metal to metal contact between drum mount and rear bulkhead mount. It is an easy fix but the drum gotta come out. here is my pictorial page that shows how with videos and repair pix:

I have a LG Dryer, DLG2102W. It is about 2yrs old and is making rumbling and screeching noises when on. I am thinking is is a belt or roller

Hello,

The problem (noise)can be from both side or area !

However, Loud noises coming from a Whirlpool dryer are most oftencaused by loose objects inside the unit or by a broken dryer belt. The dryerbelt allows the dryer's motor to run smoothly. Continuous wear and dry conditionsmay cause the belt to dry out, eventually cracking and then snapping. This willcause a loud noise within the unit. Repair and fix the dryer belt of aWhirlpool dryer to get rid of loud noises. Instructions And Things You'll Neededto solve the problem.

Screwdriver ,Replacement dryer belt 1 Stop the Whirlpool dryer and look inside thedryer's drum for any loose objects such as coins, pens or anything else thatmay have been in a pocket of clothing. Remove the object and restart the dyerto determine if the noise has stopped.
2 Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet todisconnect all power to the unit. 3 Remove the lint trap from the lint compartment onthe top of the dryer. 4 Remove the screws that hold the top panel inplace. Pull the panel off to access the
dryer belt.
5 Tilt the dryer forward and lift the dryer drum toremove the belt. Check the dryer's belt. A belt that is worn, cracked, split orbroken will cause loud noises. 6 Slide the old belt off of the drum and pull it outto remove it. Take note on how it is positioned over the drum.
7 Install the new belt. Lean the front panel awayfrom the dryer and slip the new belt over the drum. Locate the position of theold belt and slip the new belt following the old belt's position ensuring thegrooved side of the belt faces down. Push the idler pulley towards the motor toallow you to slip and loop the belt around the motor pulley.
8 Place the top panel on the Whirlpool dryer andscrew it in place.
9 Open the dryer door and use your hand to rotatethe drum counterclockwise a few turns to ensure the belt is secured.
10 Plug the dryer into the wall unit and begin use.If the noise still exists, you'll want to call a professional repairtechnician. Thanks for using fixya.

When we turn on our Whirlpool Supreme electric dryer, it heats up and dries clothes, but it is making a loud squeaking noise throughout the cycle...sometimes louder than others.

The squeaking noise can be caused by any of the following.

Location High:

Belt slipping on the dryer drum

Worn Drum seals but would sound more like a dragging noise

Location Low:

Belt tensioner pulley bearing frozen and the idler pulley shaft is spinning inside the belt tensioner assy.

Belt slipping on the motor bearing

Motor bearing is dry

Thanks for using FixYa!
