SOURCE: hi,i have a hp g6000 laptop with a compaq f700
The reason it shows the compaq logo is because that is the motherboard you have installed. HP is just your case if I am reading your question properly. Did you custom build this? Which processor is in it? Probably the wireless card isn't being recognized because of your 64 bit operating system. Windows 7 has a lot of hardware driver problems right now.

Hi
1 thing for you to check first.Go to Start-Control Panel-System-Hardware-Device Manager.Look down at the Network Adapters category and see if your device somehow became disabled, and if so right click on it and select enable. If it's x'd out,see if it tells you there is a driver problem.
Next,if you still have a connection to a desktop and are using a wireless router, try going to the Router's website and go through the wireless and network setup processes again. And see if that helps.
If you can't do anything there, the cheapest fix is to get a USB network dongle. You can run your laptop connection through 1,and you really have no other option if your onboard adapter has gone bad, other than take it to a shop, and that will be far more expensive.
If this helps, would you please rate my post?
Let me know what happens.
