Tv comes on and blinks green then cuts off

When I cut the tv on its one red light then it blinks green then the tv will cut off

Had same problem after only 3 months, tech looked at it said had a power circuit problem causing it to keep cycling, they exchanged my TV. No problem since.

SOURCE: Have sound no picture?

if the fan is cutting off and ON there is a problem with your power supply unit.

and this may also affect your other systems on the unit

I have no solution for this problem and I'm not sure I can fix it without taking it to a repair shop. The replies I got yesterday did not help.

Ur backlight inverter board is dead.
U need a new board.Possible Ur power inverter board have parts burn too.

Possible TCon board issue but check Pico fuse on Power Supply. Fuse is located near top left closer to connector plug . Fuse is marked as L7.
If faulty, replace ONLY with the correct value and type of fuse.

Yes this can be cause by over heating so better check the fan if they are working fine..

Tv cuts off and green light flashes
If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.

My daughter has a sony 50 inch tv .The model # is KDFE50A10. It is 2 or less years old. About a month ago you could turn the tv on and it would cut off and on again by itself and it got quicker and quicker...
