How to set up my chromecast - Google Chromecast

Chromecast may get hot to the touch; this is normal. Unplug Chromecast's power source and let it cool before removing it from your television. Use only the cables and plugs provided with your device to plug Chromecast into a power source. Using other cables or plugs may damage Chromecast and/or your television.

Turn off Chromecast notifications:

1. Go to the settings of the Chromecast app on your device.
2. Click on the 'Devices' option.
3. Now, check the devices listed in the section.
4. Click on the 'Menu' button for the devices.
5. Unmark/Switch off the option of 'Lets others control your casted media. '

According to official Google Support documents, there are two ways to Factory Data Reset (FDR) your Chromecast:

1. Factory Data Reset your Chromecast from the Chromecast app. You will find the option to FDR under 'Settings' or 'Menu'
2. Physically hold down the button on your Chromecast for at least 25 seconds or until the solid light begins flashing.

2. Download the chromecast app and install it on the computing device.

3. Search for a program the chromcast device on the same wireless network, you need to use the power supply provided and plug it into the TV.

4. Setup the chromecast device.

5. Now set up the TV side of things by selecting the USB or HDMI connection.

6. Now it should connect to the Internet, if doesn't check your router is letting it pass through to the internet.

3. Uncheck Disable IGMP Proxying This step will turn Multicasting ON.

you need to run the chromecast app on your phone first. then you should get the icon to send to the chromecast

Hi, this could be a power issue, are you using a USB port on the TV to power the Chromecast?

Some older USB ports might not have enough power capacity in which case you should use the small power adaptor that came with your Chromecast and power it from a wall socket.

Ensure that wireless isolation (or any labeled form of network isolation) is disabled, though it shouldn't be enabled unless it was manually set that way. I've also run into this issue when setting up Chromecasts occasionally, and I had to do a factory reset (hold down the small reset button on the Chromecast for 30 seconds) and repeat the setup process in order for it to be detected. You might try that as well.
