52 INCH RCA REAR PROJECTION SHUTS OFF

I HAVE A 52 INCH RCA REAR PROJECTION TV. IT IS 2 YEARS OLD. AFTER ABOUT 1/2 OF WATCHING IT, IT SHUTS OFF. IF YOU TURN IT BACK ON, THE PICTURE COMES ON AND SHUTS RIGHT OFF AGAIN. IF YOU WAIT A WHILE, IT WILL TURN ON AND YOU CAN WATCH AGAIN FOR ABOUT 1/2 HOUR BEFORE IT SHUTS OFF AGAIN.

    thanks..i tried putting a fan behind the tv and it still shut off after about 40 mins. i couldnt even begin to imagine how i would clean out the tv. any other suggestions ?

Your TV is overheating.. easiest remedy is to point a fan at the back of the TV or... clean the inside of the TV, Im sure its full of dust and stuff... this prevents air circulation inside the TV thus creating more heat...

    get a vacum cleaner ... open up the TV.. **** all the dust inside it =)

Lost picture
When was the last time u replaced the projection bulb,yes it could be that simple the projection bulb it dead.The bulb last only about 1 or 2 years,by using the tv on about 4 or 5 hours a day.

RCA 52in HDTV will not stay on
I would turn the circuit board over and check for clod solder joints and cracked solder, you will have to look close, my other sugestion would be to get a can of freeze and spay the different IC's and see if it stays on longer.
