I'm having the same problem. Sometimes when the switch flips to brew it does nothing. I have checked the water tank, and its definitely not that. Wondering if there is a way to take it apart and clean the insides to get it working again. Its worked really great for a year, and I love it otherwise. It had this problem one other day, and after unplugging it for several days, it magically worked. Not working this time howeverI'm having the same problem. I have a Krups XP4030 that seems to make coffee ok, however the steam light never comes one and when switched to steam mode produces no steam.I have a Krups XP4030 that seems to make coffee ok, however the steam light never comes one and when switched to steam mode produces no steam.

I assume there is a power 'On' light. If it is lit and no hot water is produced... the odds are the heating element is blown. If No 'Power On light' then change the fuse in the mains plug.... simples
If the cold water pumps from the bottom of the unit, you may have a problem with the one-way valve. Normally, this valve opens when the water is hot enough to pump up to the coffee basket, but closes to prevent the hot water from flowing back into the reservoir. If this valve is sticking, that could produce the symptoms you describe. Without actually seeing this unit, I don't know whether the valve itself can be replaced. This may require replacing the whole machine.
The steam function and the expresso use the same elements to create the steam but the valves will direct the steam to the expresso unit or the steam arm. Most likely you have a faulty valve. In most cases the valve will not open until the pressure gets to the right level. If you are just getting hot water out of the steam arm instead of steam via the expresso unit it most likely means that the valve is faulty. The valves can be replaced but is not easy. You will need to have the unit serviced or you could try to replace the valves. Make sure the flow meter is working before you replace the valves. You can check the operation of the flow meter by running the hot water cycle and making sure that you get the right amount of hot water. Good luck!
your machine might need descaling. I had trouble unscrewing the screw that holds the filter, but a bit of CRC and carefully turning back and forward did the job.
Our maching was completely blocked until I cleaned the filter.
From your message that it is clear that the steam is coming but it is not sufficient to heat the milk, so kindly call the customer care to sort the problem as you can't do it
I started the descaling process as according to manual. I tried running water through every 6 hours or so, however it kept coming up dry. I left the water in for a total of 2 days before finally the water managed to come through.
security valve of boiler openes to early and dont let the pump to rise pressure enough for good brewing( if it is this you can see water returning back to container if you have 2nd pipe in your machines reservoir)
