How to replace a lamp in 55a60a toshiba tv - Toshiba 55H70 55" Rear Projection Television

If you put in a generic lamp--this WILL happen. Toshiba sets do NOT like generic lamps. And vapor lamps often do not show physical signs of going bad.

there is a problem with the power supply board seems to have failed check the power transistors u will need a qualified personnel cos this is a high voltage area even when off capacitors hold very high voltage charge you have chances of accidental electric shock

These Toshiba DLP's were lemons.
There was a class action lawsuit in the US and Toshiba were forced to issue a recall on the lamps. Toshiba replaced the first lamp for free but when the lamps are burning out every 6 months at a replacement cost of $200 these tv's are expensive to run.
Sounds to me like the light engine has failed. This will probably be a $800-$1000 repair.
Scrap it and take the hit.

Unplug the TV, ensure the lamp door is installed and the screw is snug. Plug the TV in and wait a moment. touch and hold your finger on the power button on the front of the TV. If your TV does not power up, your ballast and power supply should be suspect. Many Toshiba DLP sets use a similar lamp design. They have been known to burst and cause a momentary short. This can knock out the power circuits which feed the lamp. If this is the case, post back for further details if you wish to repair this yourself. I hope this was of some assistance.

Hi,One way to reset lamp timer is to unplug tv wait 5 min and plug it back again.

Check Lamp for your TV in Part Store and lamp replacement procedure would be mentioned in user manual of TV.

convergence ic 's are bad need to remove and replace chips, need soldering skills, do not attempt if you are not good at soldering and desoldering

What are the labels on the lights? Timer/Lamp/Service and what color is wich?
