No surround sound

Bose Lifestyle 12 II , and Samsung LED tv and Blueray. The TV and Blue Ray have only HDMI and the Bose has only component cable connections. The Bose system does not have the optical connection. When I run the speaker test , I have no sound from the rear speakers. When it tests the rear left , it comes from the FRONT LEFT instead. Same happens when it tests the REAR right....FRONT RIGHT. Do I need another audio connection somewhere to get the 5.1 video setup to work from the rear speakers

It sounds like the speaker wires are mixed up or maybe a setting on the reciever is wrong. Verify your speakers are properly connected. you test speakers using a 9 volt battery or smaller.

Trying to connecting my Bose lifestyle to my Samsung led smart tv to play a DVD with a yellow video cord and picture is blurry and double and has jo color? Any ideas how to fix Bose lifestyle is older...

Without the specific LifeStyle model # it's not easy to say for sure, but it sounds like you might have a composite cable plugged into a component video output of the Bose. Assuming it does not have HDMI output, it might have white/red/yellow (RCA-type jacks, aka "phono") and that yellow jack is a composite video output. It would plug into the same color jack on the TV. There are also RGB (Red/Green/Blue) component outputs on many devices and similar inputs on the TV, so you have to match like color out to same color in and make sure the TV is set to composite video input, not HDMI nor component.

Also could just be a bad cable. It's always the cheap things that we overlook, so with the same output/input setup, assuming you match type, try a different cable. The actual color of the end on the cable does not matter, but don't plug a yellow-colored output jack to a red, white, blue or green input jack on the TV - that won't work.

My HDTV does not have RCA audio out option to connect to my Bose Lifestyle 12 surround system. Can I connect the Directv box directly to the lifestyle12 system to get surround for the TV? I would do...

Just make sure that you are using compatible connectors and that your signals are compatible. Ie. analog out to analog audio input, digital audio to digital audio input.

I have installed the v30 bose lifestyle system but I can not get any video output on my Samsung led tv. I have tried the hdmi cable and the component cable. It both doesn't work.please help me with this

I recommend you stick with component cabling.

Having no picture at all generally suggests the V30 is trying a video mode your TV does not support:

  1. video type (PAL or NTSC)
  2. Progressive scan
  3. an HD resolution beyond your TV's range.
I hope that helps.

Hooking up a Bose Lifestyle 30 II to an optical audio output

Actually, you can do this. Just get an optical to RCA converter.
This looks like a good one: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-40019-Optical-Converter/dp/B0002GV876/ref=pd_cp_e_2

Hooking up blue ray to Samsung 1080 DLP

if the tv is not a 1080p model it will not accept a blueray signal and the optical output from the tv only works thru its own tuner not with the inputs or cable boxes

PS3 to Bose Lifestyle 28

hey, this is how i have mine set up.

Bose to PS3 via Digital Audio Optical
PS3 to TV via HDMI

This way you can get Full 5.1 surround sound, and good picture quality, also, go to the bose menu and set the optical source to your PS3.

Connect lifestyle 48 to plasma and dvr

You need to buy a Bose VS 2, video enhancer. Your cable/sattelite, vcr and aux connect to the VS 2 and the VS2 connects one HDMI cable to the TV. The VS2 then upconverts DVDs played on the lifestyle through the VS2/HDMI.

Pretty much the same problem

I have the same system. I have a Lifestyle and a Sony TV with a Samsung Blueray player. I also have an X-box 360, plus my pc with all my CDs (I-tunes) plays through my bose. Do this:

1. Use the optical cable for the blueray player to the Bose (AUX).
2. Use a digital audio cable from the cable box (either black or orange output) to the Bose CBL-SAT digital input. (it's a single audio cable)
3. For my PC, I'm using a digital cable from the pc to the Bose. I'm using the TV output because it's empty.
4. For my x-box (which I'm not too happy about) I'm using regular red-white audio cables from Bose TV input directly to the TV audio out. (You can play all of the above through this channel, but don't).

I figured the most important high quality sound should come from the blueray player and from watching regular cable tv. For picture, you should be using all HDMI connections.

Hope this helps.

No sound from rear/ surround speakers on Bose V20

Yes, very easy and cheap if you get it from the right place. Fiber Optic going from the output of the device to the input of the receiver. If your lucky enough to have an input/output fiberoptic in your tv, run the fiber from the device to the tv input, fiber the output of the tv to the receiver so not only are you getting the device full surround sound, but you'll also get better TV surround sound for those that are made with Dolby pro logic II sound. (pretty much all the newer movies and shows)
