I suddenly have a green vertical line near the right side of the screen that will not go away. Any suggestions?
Is this on a monitor or on a laptop LCD display?
Most of the time it is due to a hardware issue like a video card or the screen itself.
When does the line appear?
A. Is it there even with the monitor or laptop turned off?
B. Is it there during the OS logo / boot screen or does it appear after the OS loads?
C. If it is a monitor, with your system turned off go into the menu of the monitor by using the buttons on the front. Is the line there?
What you can do to try and fix it is.
1. Make sure you have all the latest drivers for your video card.
2. Change the resolution of the screen.
3. Change the frequency of the monitor.
If these do not fix your issue you may want to look at getting or borrowing a video card and replacing it if this system is a desktop. If this system is a laptop and the above does not fix the issue your best bet would be to put up with it or buy a new laptop to be honest.
