Hello, my monitor turns on initially(green light) then it clicks powering down (orange light) so that nothing is displayed on screen. When I disconnect connection to tower, it(monitor) clicks on displaying a warning that the cable is disconnected, when I reconnect the cable the monitor powers down again. what can I do? I,ve made sure all power cords are working , even used a new one for monitor, even reconnected all cords..
Thanks for your advice, I'm a bit computor illiterate, what is a VGA? I did not try using monitor with another computer. Thanks for your advice, I'm a bit computor illiterate, what is a VGA? I did not try using monitor with another computer.

If you mean the light on your monitor is orange instead of green, it means the monitor is not receiving data from the computer.
Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
if the green light is on then the computer is powered up, i suspect u have a defective monitor, not that uncommon, the olny way to check it is have a computer repair shop hook it up to another working system and see if the monitor turns on, if it is the monitor just replace it, monitors are very cheap right now, just bought a 19" for $89.00, mine did the same thing, green light nothing on screen.
it could be th epower supply and it could be the monitor.
power ON button should not flash orange regardless what you do. it should stay green. then orange. not orange to green to orange.
try the monitor on another PC if you can fine one.
the other thing is are the 2 monitor similar (CRT to CRT and LCD to LCD), you can't mix the the two, they will work but need different video driver to function correctly.
Hello, For solving your problem do the following: 1. Check that the power cable is connected properly to the monitor 2. See that the SMPS of the CPU is working 3. Check that the power output from the SMPS is upot 12V
If not change the SMPS it may be due to failure of SMPS.
