My window has been inverted, how can i make it correct?

i don't know what operating system you are using so this will be a general answer. go to control panel, click on "display", click on "change display settings", open the orientation tab and click on "landscape" and click apply. other options would be portrait, portrait flipped, and landscape flipped. luck.

Black screen

Here is a fast test for the inverter in the display. Take a small flashlight and shine it in to the bottom right corner where the windows start button should be. While shining the light in try looking at the screen. If you can see the Start icon then the inverter PS or the FL tube in the display is bad. The least expensive fix is to replace the Inverter. There exist detailed instructions for the disassembly of the display panel as well as sources for the part itself. If there is further problems contact back later.

The colors of my laptop's sreen are inverted. I've tried everything I could think of (display settings, system restore,....), how do I fix this?

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers You might need to upgrade your graphics card drivers. You might have to remove your graphics card to make sure the socket is clean restart your computer the reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard if your computer came with a mother board disk the drivers could be on it Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal , larger or custom settings
Always click APPLY after making any changes windows 7 Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization. Click Window Color and Appearance. Under Window Color and Appearance, click the color you want, and then click OK. Note If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Color and Appearance window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero.

The colors on my laptop's screen are inverted, how can I fix this?

Both OS X and Windows have inversion options for their displays. Their meanings, on the other hand, differ with the operating system. An inverted display on Windows refers to the display actually being upside down, while an inverted display on the Mac refers to the colors being inverted. Either way, these options can hinder the use of your computer, for obvious reasons. Luckily, an inverted screen can be fixed quickly, on both Windows and OS X.

Right click on the Desktop and select "Properties." Click the "Settings" tab and then select "Advanced." Click the "Driver" tab and then "Graphics Properties." Press "Display Settings" and uncheck the "Enable rotation" option. Click "Apply" and then "OK." On Mac OS X Click the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Scroll down and select "System Preferences." Select "Universal Access" and click on the "Seeing" tab. Check the "Black on white" option and the display should return to normal. Close System Preferences to save the changes.

My labtop when i switch the power button on it comes on but the screen is completley black, cant see anything?

If the computer starting up and Windows is running properly but the screen is black (or the desktop is barely visible if you look at the screen closely), the backlight inverter circuit is probably to blame. This provides power for the display's backlight, and without the light you can't see the display even though it is working properly.

Fortunately, replacing the inverter in most laptops is pretty easy. Replacement parts and how-to information for many brands and models can be found online. Just search for "replacement inverter" for your brand and model and you should find several sources. A good place to find vendors today is eBay.

Replacing the inverter typically involves only a few steps. You remove a few screws to open the display. The inverter is usually a small board at the bottom of the display, held in by a couple of screws. Unplug a couple of cables, take out the old board. Then put the new one, reassemble the display and you should be back in business.

On the other hand, if the power light comes on when you press the button but the computer isn't starting up to Windows, there's some other issue that needs to be fixed. Connect an external monitor to your computer to verify it's really starting up (unless you are hearing the normal startup sound through the speakers). If an external monitor shows everything else is good, replace the inverter. Otherwise you'll need to see why your computer isn't starting.

Good luck on a speedy repair. Thanks for using Fixya!

Screen on my compact laptop went black and I can only turn it on but have nothing but black

If the laptop comes on normally otherwise and is booting to Windows (you hear the normal startup sounds), look closely at the display and see if you can make out a faint image. It often helps to shine a flashlight on the display.

If the display is faint but present, you probably have a bad inverter board in the display. The inverter provides power for the display's backlight, and without the light the display still works but you can't see it. Inverter boards are available for most brands, they're not usually very expensive, and changing one isn't too difficult. A Web search for your brand and model and "replacement inverter" should turn up several sources. There are also YouTube videos showing how to replace the inverter in many kinds of laptops.

It's also possible the backlight itself is bad. If so, replacing the display is usually preferable to trying to replace the light. The light is built into the display and it's very difficult to replace without damaging the part or the display in the process. The display can be expensive, though.

If you're not sure that the computer is working, try starting it with an external monitor connected. If there's no display then, there's something wrong with the system board that's preventing the machine from starting up. Get that fixed, and it will probably fix the display trouble as well.

The screen on my compaq armada is blank. i can

The display panel itself is probably fine, but its backlight isn't working. Without the backlight you can't see the display. There's a small circuit board called the inverter inside the display that provides power for the backlight.

It's pretty easy to replace the inverter. You need to take out whatever screws are holding the front half of the display to the back and remove the front. The inverter is at the bottom of the display, held in by a couple of screws. A couple of cables plug into it.

Here is a place that claims they have the inverter in stock for $7.39. That is one fantastic price! Get one of those and a set of miniature Phillips screwdrivers and you'll be able to fix this yourself.
