What kind of receiver? Do you have anything else like DVD player going thru receiver? My receiver has 3 hdmi in and 1 out (to tv) so all those equipment would just go to "hdmi" on tv.
Another way to do it is put your tv on exterior audio... for all sound to go thru your receiver.
Hi,here is the solution...... Since you successfully connected your DVD /Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action to listen your TV on DVD /Receiver ** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV , ** to "TV input "or "AUX input" or "Optic Cable input"of your DVD /Receiver (whichever you want based on the necessary cables on your hand ) ** than just switch to
respective mode on DVD /Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of DVD /Receiver .. *You can use "HDMI" connections as well but sometimes HDMI creates problem on Audio..
There you go..Both Tv and Xbox sound are on the DVD /Receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND.By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV will come thru your DVD /Receiver SURROUNDING SOUND.
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know. Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :)
For the XBox, I'd suggest the same connection if you are using HDMI out on the XBox. If you are using component or composite video, route the audio cables to the receiver's RCA audio in.
You will need an additional HDMI cord...you can get them without getting ripped off by purchasing at bluejeanscable.com.
Connect your HDMI out from the xbox to the receiver. Connect the additional HDMI cable to the "out" HDMI connection on the receiver and connect the other end of it to your TV.
you cannot output sound from your xbox to another dvd system , you can however send the sound to your tv and output the signal to a stereo or home theater system if your looking to have surround sound or looking for stereo sound , the tv should be set to video1-2-3 and thats where youll be able to have sound and picture , , thanks sincerely glenn
Take the remote and press theDVD button. That will change the sound system from TV to your DVD. When you switch back to TV, dont forget to switch this back by pressing DTV/CBL white button
The optical connection on the TV is most likely an input, not an output. You need to connect the Xbox to the receiver, then the TV. If the receiver does not have a HDMI input, use another audio or digital out from the Xbox to the receiver.
