Your printer is not printing straight to a DVD, so you will have to buy self adhesive labels, print on them and then stick the label on the disc. Now, it all depends on what software you have available. Your might have software included with the Photosmart printer for CD/DVD label printing, check your installer CD that came with the printer. If you don't, and use Nero for burning DVDs, you may notice it has a label printing software that comes with it. You will need this type of software in order to print a label. If you don't have Nero, or any other label printing software you can try using some of the free ones that are out there, like
Disketch 2.11. There's also a lot of free to try label printing software, like
Acoustica CD DVD Label Maker which you can use for 15 days for free. If you have Photoshop and you're good using it, then this is another option to consider (you can download templates online).
Using a label printing software is pretty easy, most of them will have templates that you can open and just edit, or you can start with a blank design and add text and pictures to it. When you are finnished put the special label paper in the printer and click print. If you have special DVD labels make sure you specify that in the printing preferences before you print.
