WANT INFO ON dELL d5110 TOWER PC

It has many issues of non working or not properly working and it's files move so Windows can't find them making it rather useless. It has an infrastructure wifi system that never worked but is virus clean, hardly used (like brand new)along with refusing most programs that can rectify these problems. The 'shop' said they're clueless. Am I going to have to replace it-most likely?!

SOURCE: Dell 4700C randomly goes into "sleep mode" and doesn't wake up.

Honestly, my first suggestion would have been to upgrade your memory. If you go into control panel and check your power settings (I'm assuming you're on windows XP) Do you have all of you options set to "Never"? You may also want to check your BIOS settings to see how your sleep/hibernate is set up. Aside from that, you'd have to run some hardware diagnostics to give a better idea of what to look for. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: the motherboard cannot detect the hard drive/ hard disk

You cant install xp on one machine and then move the drive to another. By nature the xp install is tied to the hardware of the machine it is installed on

SOURCE: free virus removal from Dell PC

you can try avast at:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

or
malwarebytes at:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

both softwares are good and free.
the memory of the system will depend on the capacity of the RAM installed on the system. you can either upgrade the memory (RAM) or stop applications from running at start-up

SOURCE: Dell Dimension 4600 Won't Boot Up, Steady Amber Light is on tower

It could very well be the Mobo or the power supply. You may want to try to take the CMOS battery out for a few mins as well, I have had problems with that. But I would try PS first, get one from Circuit city or another electronics store and if it doesnt fix it take it back. I dont know if you know a lot about computers but you could buy a new Mobo just make sure the Ram and Processor match up

Dell OptiPlex 780 with Windows 7 does not play my cd's or dvd's and is missing from device manager

Sounds like a problem of non-detection by the system. If the drive is missing from My Computer then it definitely is a non-detection issue. Try using this file (it's an exe when unzipped) and only required double-clicking.

My Dell dimension 2400 monitor doesn't work when connected to my tower. It appears that it's off when I connect it to the Dell Dimension 2400 tower, but when I connect the same monitor to another computer,...

Hi! For dell machines when u unplug the video cable/VGA from the tower while the system is on it will show monitor self test.If you are seeing a black box moving around the screen it means that monitor is ok.Check connection between monitor and tower.Make sure cables are securely plugged in.Check if the tower is ok. There is a possibility that your monitor is ok but the tower is not.check the power button (whats the color) if amber/orange, this means there is something wrong the the tower. If its blue or white it means its ok.Also check if you are going to hear one beep, it means system is booting up properly. If tower is ok and you are using a expansion video card then try to use internal one, normally its the vga port above the usbs.If you are going to use onboard video card make sure you enable it first in bios.If all things fail, contact your manufacturer, if the system is under warranty then they will send a tech to check the machine.hope this helps...

I had a issues with my power supply no after i

Check to make sure that everything is properly hooked up again. You hard drive may have power flowing too it, but it may not be hooked up to the motherboard and reading properly. Just check to see if everything is properly hooked into the right spots. If it is, make a comment on this letting us know and I'll see if I can figure it out from there.

I hope this helps.

I have a dell e531 and i was wondering if i was able to buy a new tower for it... what type to i get?

Moving a Dell MB to a non-dell tower is problematic due to the proprietary power/IO panel Dell uses. You have to determine the MB pinouts (Not an easy task) then manually make the connections (In my opinion a rather large waste of time and effort)

Keep your chassis. If you are wanting to expand you device capability, build a system from scratch, but just to improve looks, pay a good airbrush artist a couple hundred to paint it.

I had similar problem with a Dell Optiplex 760 desktop . I went to BIOS disable external SATA and all additional ports which is not used like parallel and serial ports and it worked. I think its with SATA settings only .

Dell dimension 4300s want to move hard drive to a new machine

You can move it but you have to remember that its going to have different hardware then your dell 4300 so it might require you to install drivers for the hardware that windows XP pro can't recognize. Keep that in mind so as long as you know where to go to get drivers for the hardware in that other machine, it won't be a problem.
