It is a keyless chuck. Put the drill in reverse (chuck should spin to the left when viewed from the back) and hold the main body area of the chuck with your hand while slowly running the drill. The chuck will open (unless it is broke) and release the bit. You do the opposite (slowing running the drill in forward) for tightening a bit in the chuck.
The chuck will not turn. So to loosen just turn the black plastic counter clockwise. The chuck will loosen. Or you can hold the black part on the chuck tight and put the drill in reverse and slowly squeeze the trigger and the chuck will loosen also. Do the opposite to put a new bit in. Put the drill in forward and hold the black part of the chuck and squeeze the trigger with the bit in place and it will tighten down on the bit.
Look at the three jaws in the chuck,if on is further out than the others the you need to tap ti back into place with a small punch and a hammer. If this does not work then you need to replace the chuck, remove the screw at the bottom of the chuck[where you put the bit],then you will need to to clamp vise grip on the chuck and with it pointed away from you hit the vise grips with a hammer with a sharp blow downward and it should come off.Hope this helps.
If the chuck is too tight to get the bit out you can either put a glove on one hand grab the chuck and run the drill in the reverse direction or if that will not work use vise grips or a small pipe wrench on the chuck to loosen it but be sure to tape the pipe wrench or vise grips with a thin piece of duct tape so you don't gouge the drill chuck.
I am guessing that you need instructions on how to use the chuck. Put the drill in reverse, grab the chuck with one hand and then run the drill for a moment, this will loosen the chuck so you can insert a new bit into the end. Be careful to not spin the drill too fast or you may hurt your hand. To tighten the chuck you simply put the drill in regular/forward mode and grab the chuck while running the drill.
this is an easy fix. it designed to come of easily and can fall off if you dont tighten the side handle. the chuck has a quick release mechanism. place the chuck onto the machine as far as you can. it wont go on all the way. simply pull back the black collar on the chuck toward the front of the chuck and push the chuck on the rest of the way.
to ensure that it is on correctly, turn the chuck by hand until it locks into place.
Hope this helps.
Place tool lightly in vice, place any allen wrench , L shaped type , with long end out of chuck, small end in chuck. clamp chuck jaws tight around end of wrench. With pipe or hammer, tap end of wrench counter clock wise. These chucks are tight.
