SOURCE: Acer aspire one not booting

your laptop has been turned off without shutting down. all your laptops registries are probably messed up. the easiest way to do is to reformat your computer or restore it to factory settings. unless you have some important files that you cant afford to lose.

SOURCE: Aspire ZG5 Won't Complete Boot Process

Hello Dzaitz,

A description of the error message: http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x21a
Basically, Windows' security has been compromised - so it won't work until you fix the security issue.

The "0xc0000005" part means that the error occurred in your memory. Most likely this was either caused by the power outage or malware. If the power outage caused it, there may be other damage that isn't obvious at this point.

Since you can't boot into Windows, your choices are a bit limited.
First, I'd suggest that you run this free, bootable memory diagnostic: http://www.memtest86.com/
As a "just to be sure" measure, I'd also run a free, bootable hard drive diagnostic (available at the support website for the manufacturer of your hard drive).
If you pass those 2 tests, then I'd suggest a repair installation of Windows XP. If you have Internet Explorer 7 installed, read this first: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=917964. Then the instructions for the repair install are located here: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Post back with any more questions or comments for additional assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

SOURCE: Computer randomly shuts down in Safe Mode only

I can't think of any reason why you would want to run in safe mode except if the computer crashes your system. If you have a heat problem in safe mode it is shutting down to protect you CPU and GPU which are two things you won't want to replace. If you are over clocking you CPU that could cause this problem as the power management system is not active in Windows when you run safe mode. If your system is under warranty and you are concerned about this problem ask them to do a warranty repair. If it's not under warranty you can take it to Best buy and explain the problem and ask for a PC health check. Last I heard they were still doing those for free. At this point though I would avoid running the PC in Safe Mode

SOURCE: Acer Aspire 5315-2713 Windows XP Boot fails, Safe

If the BIOS does not detect the hard drive, the computer won't boot up because the Windows operating system is on the hard disk.
Try re-seating the hard drive to make sure it makes proper connection, when you boot up again and the hard drive is not detected then most likely the hard drive has failed.
To get the Acer operating again, replace the hard drive, install Windows and the Acer device drivers plus your programs.

You can download the drivers from the Acer WEB site using a different computer and then install them on your notebook. Make sure you select the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers you that require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

Acer aspire one starts to boot up stops at windows xp screen

Hi there !

I suggest you try to run your computer on safe mode by pressing F8 when booting up. Advance menu options will pop up and choose run on safe mode. When it load the Windows, try to figure out what you installed or you before your computer happens. I suggest that you download also windows registry cleaner to fix some errors in your computer that prevent you to go to windows screen when booting up on normal mode. Run the FULL SCAN and press the fix errors button.

I should somehow help your computer.

Dell Inspiron 530s/531s desktop, Win. Xp home...Windows stops responding at the ''Loading Personal Settings'' cannot boot in safe mode.

try to boot in "Last good known configuration settings" by restarting your pc and then press F8 before windows appear and then select the boot option i mention above. if this not work since you said that it can't boot to safe mode, your other option is to repair the windows or else reformat it. when you repair the windows you must have windows xp home edition cd installer, you load it to your cd/dvd rom and then restart your pc and press F2 or DEL button before windows appear in order to go to setup bios settings. in bios settings, you choose boot order setup and setup first priority to cd/dvd and press F10 by saving the changes and then press any key when you see the prompt so that it can boot up to windows xp home cd installer and then follow screen instruction that you arrive to windows repair option.

Samsung r40 not loading xp

If the computer boots in to safe mode fine, you more than likely have a virus or spyware interfering with the boot process.

Windows also could have corruption on it.
Insert your windows XP CD and boot the computer, you may need to set your boot order in BIOS so tht CD is first.

Once the CD loads Run the recovery console Select 1 for the C: drive if it asks for a password this is generally blank or will be the password on the "Administrator" account you see when you boot to windows in safemode

Once in the recovery console do a chkdsk /f command
This is will check for errors on the disk and can fix a lot of boot issues
I would also suggest typing the command mbrfix to replace the master boot record.

If it still will not boot you may need to reinstall windows xp

The laptop is not letting me get into safe mode after pressing f8 and choosing safe mode the laptop just goes into a loop and does not load windows

seems like an update have messed your xp. if you have a windows xp cd start with that and choose repair mode. then run checkdisk "chkdsk /R" instructions http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=5097

Booting problem

You may have to boot from a CD and make a repair.
Once logged in the CD, choose repair option (Recovery Console), and type these three commands:
1) fixmbr (wait til it finishes)
2) fixboot (wait...)
3) CHKDSK (this will take longer than the previous two.
Your laptop may now boot normally. I think your laptop doesn't have an internal CD-ROM so you may use an external USB CD.

Installing xp freezes

If it will only boot in safe mode it means you have a driver conflict.
This is only a suggestion but try fresh reinstalling windows, with only basic xp drivers then install other drivers one at a time rebooting each time you do until you come across the faulty one. remove it or check its for xp not vista research net for correct one
