It is not a solution to problem but it is an alternative way to get your photos. Most camera use HDSD/SD memory card. If you buy a USB card reader that can take HDSD/SD card, you can just

  1. take the memory card out from your camera
  2. insert the card into the card reader
  3. turn on you PC
  4. plug your card reader into a USB port on your PC
  5. your PC should give you a few more additional drives
  6. your photos are in one of those new drives

2 Options:

1. Your camera probably came with a USB cable. If so you need to connect that cable from your camera to your PC and turn on the camera. Your computer should automatically recognize that you've plugged it in and should run a "wizard" that will walk you through importing those photos.

2. Your PC may have a "multi-card reader" this is a series of slots that accept different sizes/types of memory cards from cameras etc. Your camera has a memory card that you can remove and place into one of these slots. Again once you've plugged in this memory card you should again get the wizard asking you'd like to do.

Deleting pics

Hi. I don't know if you accidentally changed something, but I would take all the pictures off. Download them to a pc then format the card. Then, reset the camera back to manufacturer specs. That would fix it.

Computer with XP running program dies when usb connected to c-770

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Sanyo digital camera

You shouldn't need any extra software to download your pictures. Most digital cameras are accessible through windows just by plugging them in. Then you can browse through your camera and copy them accross manually. I imagine the Sanyo disc may have had a program that made this automated but I doubt you will find it for download as it would probably have copyrighted material on it. In any case I cannot find it for download.

Good Luck.
