Don't worry about excess charging.
You computer has built in hardware to manage the charging process.
It will make sure to give the best charging to the batteries.
You can't give more than that manually

Lithium Ion batteries do not suffer from charging problems, but like all battery technologies they do wear out over time.

USING THE DEVICE EXCESSIVELY WITH THE CHARGER PLUGGED IN WILL DETERIORATE THE BATTERY'S LIFE CYCLE. IF YOU ASK YOURSELF AND KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS.... I AM GOING TO BE HONEST WITH YOU,... YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY... ALSO., EXCESSIVE CHARGING WILL WEAR OUT THE CHARGING PORT. HAVE YOU TRIED A NEW CHARGER???

Unfortunately this is a worst case scenario. Your board has taken on to much water and is not repairable. You could have apple repair it with the replacement of a new board. But the cost alone would be more than a new one. You are better off buying a new one. Best of luck to you and thanks for using FixYa.com

A 7.4 volt battery is two 3.7 volt Li-Po batteries in series. Battery has
expired, there is no saving it anymore in fact dangerous just having
around. Li-Po batteries are very sensitive to over charging and also
to being under charged, usually the device that's being operated by
this battery has a safety catch called a BLC (battery limit circut).
So battery won't drop below the safe voltage of about 20% of full
charge.
FYI Don't even mess with this battery anymore, replace it. When Li-Po
batteries blow up they have a VERY high temperature flash and can easily set a garage, house, ect on fire in a split second.
Have fun and be safe.

My freedom 20 charger/inverter does not seem to drop down to a float charge and continues to charge batteries at a rate which makes it necessary to add water continually to my house batteries which consist...

The charger has four distinct charging stages - 1) Bulk, 2) Acceptance, 3) Float, and 4) Equalization. If your batteries are old and therefore won't reach full charge, the charger may not be able to get them up to the voltage where float charging kicks in. If you ever allowed the water in the batteries to get down to where the plates were exposed, one or more of your batteries may be contaminated with excessive sulfate buildup on the plates. The equalization process (Stage 4,which must be entered manually) will help to return any excessive sulfate builup back into solution, so you might try that and see if the performance improves.

Is the 10 amp se-40ma battery charger to big for my motorcycle battery can it over heat or over charge it

A battery that might sit for a month at a time, would only need a trickle charge or about 1 amp, a charger of this type can stay hooked to the battery for the whole month. A 10 amp would be for a quick charge or only about 4 - 12 hours depends on how fast the battery lost the charge. A 10 amp charge would cook the battery if left for days.

Shoprider cadiz scooter, batteries show full charge when first charged up but when driving scooter battery power runs out after about 3 miles. brakes work fine, no noises from motor or gearbox, what's...

I think your batteries haven`t been charged properly,or they have been left standing so the charge has leaked out.At a minimum your batteries need to be charged for 12 hrs a day for the first month if not they will not build the capacity and will dwindle and die for example it is at only 25% capacity, but looks like a fullcharge, it says it fully charged but will die
quickly this happens because it is charged to its full capacity but that is only 25% of the batteries true potential
resulting in short battery life.
Unfortunately majority of scooter batteries like this have to be newly replaced.
