The ice maker on my Kenmore Coldspot model 10659069994 is not working. The "timer" piece on the front is making noise, and slightly moves back and forth, but does not rotate. There is water flowing to the water filter, but none flowing to the ice maker. I have eliminated a frozen tube from the possibilities of problems, but am not sure what to do next. Are there fuses in the back that I could try replacing which might get water into the ice maker or do I need to try replacing the timer? Any ideas?
If the timer piece you are referring to is behind the square white cover, and it's moving slightly back and forth, you should visually check the ice making area it's self to see if the ejector fingers are jammed with ice, or against the ice stripper. Ice Maker jams can be caused by reduced water pressure to the unit mainly from the water filter, your water filter in the toe kick should be replaced at an interval of 6 months to a year, regardless of filter status light. When water pressure is low, not enough water fills the unit and the undersized cubes can become lodged or stuck in the ice maker while being ejected, equally so if there is an over fill situation caused by other failures the ice maker can't eject at all. hi LOP7,
In most cases you can easily solve this problem.
step one would be to make sure your freezer is getting cold enough. If you have icecream in your freezer is it frozen solid or is it soft. Most icemakers cycle around 0 degrees and if your freezer is not getting to 0 then it will not cycle and it will not make ice.
Step two would be to make sure you icemake is cycling. To do this simply lift the little shut off arm on your icemaker and wait about an hour then go back to the icemaker and drop the arm down. The icemaker should start going through a cycle. You should notice the arm slowly begin to raise and the ice dispencer fingers will begin to turn. Then you will hear it call for water. You may hear a humm.
If the freezer is cold enough and the icemaker is cycling that only leaves the inlet valve. replace the valve and enjoy the ice.
If the freezer is cold enought and the icemaker does not cycle, then you have a bad icemaker. Simply replace the icemaker and viola.
Third if the freezer is not cold enought 0 defrees. Then you may have a defrost problem. In this case post more info and I will be happy to help. Good luck [email protected]

Look for an ice cube lodged in the fingers IM. Get a hair dryer and melt that dude. No ice cube? Add some water to the IM mold. If it kicks out some ice but makes no more then you is gonna need a water valve. If it don't kick out no ice then you is gonna need a ice mold thermostat. Either one is very easy and cheap to fix. let me know Kimosabe.

there is valve for each right at the water inlet, your valve is stuck or your coil is bad......get a new valve.
