1. Press the menu button, then navigate across the top of the screen using the four way pad to the tool icon and select it.

2. A new set of menu options appear, navigate across the top of the screen to option 3 and then down to the item labelled "Shutter FX" and press select. Using the pad, navigate to "OFF" and select it.

3. Press the menu button to exit and you're good to go.

Note that on the same screen you used to silence the shutter there are other settings which you may wish to adjust. Note that using the option to turn off audio signals does not affect the shutter or focus confirmation signals; you already know that there's a separate option to adjust the shutter noise, and you'll notice that the same goes for the focus confirmation noise. The volume control affects all noises and I've set it on mine to low.

HI i need the manual for my konica minolta dimage a2 thank you

Good Afternoon,
Because Konica Minolta no longer exists in the photographic industry, many of their support channels have been filtered over to Sony Corporation, who was the purchasing agent of their photography division.
Below is a link to where you can download an English manual for your DiMage A2:
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/digital_cameras/dimage-a/index.html
And the one you want can be followed to this link:
http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/digital_cameras/dimage-a/dimage_a2/D_A2_E.pdf
or you can simply click on it from the first URL provided.
Hope this helps!

Grainy Pictures

I have an earlier version of this camera: a minolta  dimage 7. While your camera is better(later) than mine beyond ISO 100 these cameras tend to be noisy.  The only solution is to asscpt the noise since hou will need a high ISO in order to use an acceptable shutter speed  and use a noise reduction program (noise ninja, neat image, helcion noise filter). One of these may be free- i think helcionbut aside from changing to a DSLR this is the best solution

What is the range shutter speed?

The DiMAGE A2 controls shutter speed in the range of 30 sec. to 1/4000 sec. in 1/3 increments. (at bulb maximum 30 sec.) The speed, 1/4000 sec. is controlled only when the aperture is f5.6 or over in P and A mode. The highest speed in S and M mode is 1/2000 sec. The lower range depends on the set camera sensitivity. ISO800: 4 sec., ISO400: 8 sec., ISO200: 15 sec., ISO100 and ISO64: 30 sec.

What autofocus modes does the DiMAGE A2 employ?

AF single or AF continuous can be selected. In AF single mode, focus is calculated and set when the shutter-release button is pressed partway down. This mode is mainly useful for a stationary subject. In AF continuous mode, camera continues to focus on a moving subject even when the shutter-release button is pressed partway down. It is convenient to capture the moving subject. When setting spot focus point in AF continuous mode, subject tracking can be used. (Subject tracking can be turned on/off by the recording menu. ) When selecting the Spot Focus Point, Full Time AF can be used*. * Full Time AF can be turned on/off on the setup menu. * Sensors mounted on the grip and on the eyepiece detect when the camera is held.

Which types of filters can be used?

Please use thin type filters to prevent vignetting on the corners. The following filters are vignetting-free. Konica Minolta 49mm AC L37 (UV filter) (Thickness is approx. 5.5mm in total, and approx. 3.4mm excluding the screw part.) Konica Minolta 49mm ND 4x filter 49mm type causes vignetting. Please use Konica Minolta filter adapter (49mm > 62mm) and 62mm Polarizing filter II (Circular) in combination.
