My charger is dead when switched on at the power point. A wiring diagram would be very helpful if that is possible please. Thank you. David

Both of my 18v and 12V chargers stopped charging. The 18V one is for a B & D trimmer and the 12v one is for a B & D drill. They charged last time but the next time they did not work. Neither of the Red and Green lights no longer light up. This indicates that the chargers are faulty.
I then tested the output voltage of the charger's transformer with a multimeter: http://www.altronics.com.au/p/q1053a-digital-multimeter-19-range-with-transistor-test/
The charger's mains-transformer output was 0V on both chargers. Then I used my bench power supply (http://www.altronics.com.au/p/m8303-powertran-30v-3a-regulated-bench-top-power-supply/ ) to supply voltage to input side of the charger's circuit board (24V DC to the 18V charger; 15V DC to the 12V charger). I did this by soldering temporary wires (from the DC power supply) to the output of the rectifier diodes. The charger(s) immediately came to life. (they successfully charged batteries). Therefore, replacing the transformer should fix the charger. You can find the replacement transformer for both chargers here: http://www.jaycar.com.au/Power-Products-Electrical/Power-Conversion-%26-Transformation/AC-AC-Transformers/15-30V,-30VA,-1A-Multi-Tapped/p/MM2008

For USA go here, http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/
For UK go here, https://service.toolcommerce.com/Products/Default.aspx
I work in uk and that is the same system we use, just a few less functions than I get as a service agent.

About 60 minutes...max 90 minutes. Do NOT leave it on the charger for hours and hours...that just cooks the battery.
And switch regularly between the two batteries...else the one that doesn't get used will die.

Testimonial: "you missed the point te charger is "obsolete""
SOURCE: I have burnt out one of the resistors in my 18
MOST OF THE TIME MANUFACTURERS DOESNT SELLE DIAGRAMS,BECOZ THE WANT ONLY TO REPAIR THEIR PRODUCT BY THEIR CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS.
SOURCE: charger not charging have 2 new chargers neither 1
You should probably contact Customer Service regarding this. I'd say it's a problem with the batteries rather than the chargers considering this looks like a recent EPC model - 1800 444 224
