currently your phone is running on an operating system known as " Series 40 ", this means that you are not able to use the full format code for your phone.

but try this code for " Series 60 "

YOU NEED TO FORMAT YOUR PHONE NOT MEMORY CARD.FORMATTING THE PHONE WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.AND TO AVOID PROBLEM IN FUTURE INSTALL APPLICATION MANAGER ON YOUR PHONE AND WHENEVER YOUR PHONE SAY MEMORY FULL JUST USE THIS SOFTWARE TO COMPRESS MEMORY.

THERE ARE TWO METHOD TO DO FORMAT NOKIA HANDSET.

1. MANUALLY.

1. OPEN MENU>SETTING>PHONE SETTING>FACTORY SETTING.
2. PRESS O.K. A MENU WILL POP UP LIKE YOU LAST ALL YOUR DATA PRESS O.K.
3. IT WILL ASK FOR CODE ENTER CODE( DEFAULT CODE IS 12345).
4. PRESS OK IT WILL DO FORMAT YOUR PHONE.

2. USING CODE.

1. DIAL *#7370# ON MAIN SCREEN.
2. A MENU WILL POP UP LIKE FORMATTING PHONE.
3. PRESS OK IT WILL ASK FOR CODE ENTER 12345 AND PRESS OK
4. IT WILL DO FORMAT FOR YOU.

3.METHOD NO.3(FOR S60 SERIES MOBILE)

1. SWITCH OFF YOUR PHONE.
2. WHILE SWITCHING ON PRESS THREE BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME.(1.GREEN DIALING KEY 2.*KEY,3 KEYPAD NO. 3 KEY) WITH POWER ON BUTTON.
3. A MESSAGE WILL POP UP LIKE FORMATTING. HOLD BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS AND RELEASE THEM AFTER THAT.
4. YOUR PHONE WILL RESTART AND ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE GONE

If you like to restore only settings using Restore factory defaults in the mobile.
If yu like to format your phone follow below steps
If you know the security code you can use *#7370#it will full format,
Full format means it will delete all data in the mobile.
If you have forgotten security code you can follow the below steps
Press green dial key, 3 and * at a same time when switching on the phone for hard reset in case of forgotten security code.This will erase all the contents in phone

I had changed security code as 12345 to xxxxx. now security code forgotten. now mobile shows memery full but not full now i can not format or reset please helf me I don't no lock code how can format or reset

remove your MMC n just type *#7370#
n will ask u the security code.type it out (default code is 12345 )


NOTE: battery must b full, else if format is disrupted by low batt, consequences will b disastrous
I heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same i think.

but back up everything before doing this onto ur computer or MMC..

You can always do a Full Factory reset on the phone with a master code. Keep in mind, this procedure will erase all data. *2767*3855#

try this procedure.. password less procedure

Switch-off your phone.

1. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.

Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

2. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your phone will back to original system and factory settting.

Full format: *#7370#.
Soft reset: *#7780#.
In both cases, lock code is 12345.
There is another way to full format/hard reset:
try the "3 finger reset' which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone
