Remove audio drivers, clean your PC with i.e. CCleaner, restart PC, install this drivers:

check if the sound or audio drivers are properly installed. if not installed the drivers. move to control panel and click on sound and audio devices, then check if the sound has been mute. if yes unmute and test your sound once more

If this doesn't help, try here again, drivers for sony via vgn-t170 series Currently there's no drivers for windows 7 but on most systems this works. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.
