I would definitely follow your friends advice. If they are under warranty, you should be able to get them fixed. If the battery can come out of the tablet, you can use a universal charger to charge the batter, but I am assuming it doesn't.

If you know how to solder, then you could replace the port yourself, but this is risky, so getting pro help is the best bet.

The problem might be that your battery is too old. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charges that it can undergo.. usually between 300 and 500, before it starts to not hold much power anymore.. If it's not the battery,
I suggest you test the charger.
if you have a multimeter/voltmeter, unplug the charger from the wall socket and tablet. Set multimeter to measure Resistance/Ohms.. Touch one end of your meter cable to one of the charger pins(that you would otherwise stick into the wall socket) & the other end to the end you otherwise stick into the tablet.. all you're looking for is 'some' measurement... if you get a reading, test the other pin (wall socket end of the charger) .. if you get a reading again, then your charger should be fine.
Next look at your tablet, where you stick the charger into.. does anything seem loose/out of place? if no.. call the shop you bought it from an ask for assistance over the phone (typically shops offer advice freely over the phone)

The only way i know of is to take off the back casing and look at where the the charger port is and you might be able to remove it with an object a little bit bigger than the end of the charger. otherwise you cant do it your self withput messing something up on the tablet.

If I am reading you correctly the charger port from the charger has been lodged in the tablet. Get some tweezers and pull it out very very carefully. Hopefully no damage has been done. Buy a new charger afterwards.

You either have the wrong charger for the device. Check if your using your camera charger instead of the Tablet charger the ends look similar, the camera end is larger. If it is the right charger make sure the orientation os the end is correct. You may have it upside down? Look at the female socket end as a guide. Don't force it otherwise you can brake the socket off the motherboard inside. Hope this helps. Regards Bob from OZ

Buy a RIM Blackberry Rapid Charger. It uses another connection:the one with the three magnetic contacts.

It was about $10 on amazon today. And it charges fast.

You'll have to send it back plus $15.00 for shipping & handling,the company is something to deal with. My tablet still has not been replaced and I sent it back Dec.3 2012,they've received it too!! They are a mess!!
