SOURCE: JVC GM-P420E Plasma no video green screen

the problem is with the micro processor on the back of the fx-1169a board (gm-p420ug) this is the board the inputs connect to . yours may be a diffrent p/n due to yours bein a "e" extention model. to repair this problem you need to remove the processor from the socket, remove the socket from the board and solder the processor onto the board. the processor is ic002 on the back side the problem is thermal in nature due to cold solder joints on the socket. i have fixed this problem many times by using this method.

SOURCE: JVC LT-32DS75SJ issue with HDMI

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

SOURCE: JVC 40 inch LCD digital inputs (1 and 2) no longer

This TV has a sensor that deactivates the inputs when light is sensed. perform this procedure to correct it:

1. press "Sleep" button on the remote
2. while "Sleep timer 0" is showing, simultanuously press "display" and "video" button on the remote
3. you should be in the Service menu of the TV....if not you should do the steps again
4. select "self check" from the displayed options.
5. when the "self check" menu is displayed, Power off the TV.
6. unplug and replug the TV.
7. Check the digital input.

if the input never worked for you, it is possible that you have the DVD/Bluray/whatever set up incorrectly. I don't think this TV accepts 1080P resolution so make sure it is set to 1080i or lower

SOURCE: Not able to scan for digital OTA channels on a JVC LT-32X667 LCD

Seeing as it does not have a digital tuner in it, I would think this would be the problem, you will have to get a box for it.

Playstation 3 works fine useing the av hook up but won;t work with hdmi cable hook up.

First, make sure your TV is on the appropriate input for the plugged in HDMI cable. Once this is completed, turn your ps3 on. If the screen comes on and is black, turn the ps3 to standby (red light is on) and hold the front power button until the console beeps a second time. This will usually force the ps3 to recognize the hdmi input and will bring up the menu to configure the AV settings.

Hi our PS3 has no sound or picture. It does have the green power light on.

What is probably happening, is your PS3 is set for the wrong type of output. If you are using an HDMI cord, try switching to the AV cables that came with your PS3, and set your TV at the appropriate input to correspond with the AV hookups, and see if the picture works then.
If you are using the AV cables, it may have been set to HDMI accidentally. You need to use an HDMI cord, and hook the PS3 up to an HDMI compatible TV or monitor, and select the HDMI input. Once you get the picture working, go to Settings>Display Settings and set the display you wish to use.

Ps3 won't transmit on tv, tv works ps3 is running, checked all cords

You need to check and make sure that you are trying to view the PS3's output on the proper channel or input on your TV. If you need to scroll through every channel and input.

If that doesn't work try replacing the A/V or HDMI cables. If it still doesn't work you may need to send it to Sony and have it replaced. The video output section of the console may be bad or not functioning correctly.

If you have a friend with a PS3 try to see if they will bring their's over and let you test it out. If their PS3 won't display then it's something wrong with the wires or the TV.

I have a Pioneer reciever that does not have a hdmi input, also There is 1 optical input on it that my cable box is hooked up to. I have not opened the ps3 yet because I'm not sure how to get the sound to...

ps3 comes with an av jack set as well as hdmi. now you can use the hdmi to the TV and run audio out from the TV to the receiver and that should work but if you don't have audio out on the TV then you need to go get the av cable

PS3 no longer communicating with TV

All: Try this -

P
erform the following steps to reset the Video Output Settings.
  1. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the [HDMI OUT] port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the [HDMI Input] port of the TV or display monitor.
  2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
  3. Turn ON the PLAYSTATION 3 and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor). [If resetting does not auto-detect your HDTV, see next step below.]
NOTE: As of system software update version 1.60, the PLAYSTATION 3can automatically detect an HDMI connection to a TV. If the PLAYSTATION 3 is turned on with an HDMI cable connected, the screen for switching video output settings will be displayed automatically. (Does not function unless the TV that is connected by the HDMI cable is turned on.)

As of version 1.80 of the system update for the PLAYSTATION 3, the PLAYSTATION 3 can upscale the video content of PlayStation® format software, PlayStation®2 format software, and DVDs to HD resolution.

If Resetting the Video Output Setting Did NOT Detect Your HDTV Automatically (Certain TV's Only)
With certain televisions, the PLAYSTATION 3 may not automatically detect the HDMI source (TV) which it is plugged into, even after resetting the Video Output Setting (as described above).

If resetting the Video Output Setting did not work, you may need to follow these steps to manually locate the HDMI source:

1. Connect both the AV Cable and the HDMI cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 to the corresponding (AV and HDMI) ports on your TV. 2. Proceed with resetting the Video Output Setting on the PLAYSTATION 3 again. (Follow these steps, then continue to step 3 below.)
3. Turn the TV channel to the corresponding "Input" or "Video" channel for the AV Cable connection.
4. Manually change the Video Output Settings to HDMI. (Follow these steps, then continue to step 5 below.)
5. Now switch the "Input" or "Video" channel on the TV for the HDMI port the PLAYSTATION 3 is currently plugged into.
6. Accept the display settings for HDMI before the timer runs out (30 seconds). Highlight "Yes" and press the X button.
7. You can now disconnect AV Cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 and the TV, as it is no longer needed.
