There is a switch that turns it on or off. There may be a number of things wrong with it. Try tinkering with the switch. It should be a metal rod that sticks out.

Whirlpool 20rb d4 a+pt fridge freezer icemaker making very little ice and dispenser panel bulb flashing

Check the circuit board that controls the dispenser. Also, check the wiring and terminals on the control panel. Also, check ice size adjustment function.

Whirlpool side by side, water-ice through the door. Icemaker and ice dispenser works fine, water dispenser does not. What could be wrong?

I think the solenoid that operates the water on and off is bad. After awhile calcium deposit builds up around the plunger causing it to stick. That's what happened with my refrigerator. Hope This Helps.

ICE MAKER NOT PRODUCING ICE. WATER IS GETTING TO LINE; WATER DISPENSER IS WORKING FINE, MOTOR ON ICE MAKER IS WORKING. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AFTER WATER LINE TO FRIG FROZE DURING COLD SPELL.

Remove the icemaker and check the incoming water line. It may be frozen.

This icemaker manual may be of some help to you.

Icemaker not working, but water dispenser is

Water valve has separate coils for water to door and to icemaker. If icemaker is cycling the valve is likely the problem.

ICE MAKER QUIT MAKING ICE ON MY WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

Ice Dispenseer

The most likely cause is the water solenoid behind the fridge. Take an ohm meter and test across the two terminals and it should NOT ohm out (beep). If it does not ohm out I would replace the P.C. Board kit, emitter & receiver icemaker control

The icemaker stop working on my Whirlpool side by side frig

If there are ice cubes setting in the icemake waiting to be dumped then the icemaker is bad. If the icemake is dry then the water valve is bad. You have one water valve with two solenoids. One works water in the door and the other sends water to the icemaker.

Icemaker will not was dispense ice

My icemaker stopped producing ice. We turned off the water line to it when we went on vacation for a week. We turned the water back on when we got home and since that time it won't produce ice. We can still get water from the door dispenser though.
