When the hard disk is corrupted you can either send the PS to sony or buy a new 2.5 sata hdd, and reinstall the system.

First you can try formatting the HDD.

Contact Sony for further instructions.

When HDD is corrupted data are generally lost.

Regards.

Western Digital External USB 3.0 1 TB Hard Drive: The disk is inaccessible. The file structure is corrupted and unreadable

There is companies that make data recovery, you could try them, there is also some for private use, but they are not that good. But those companies will pay a lot, if you have a good home insurance you could try them to pay recovery.

Depends how much you appreciate the information on hard disk.

Playstation 3 hard disk files corrupted???

hey ash,

ps3 Hard drive needs to be manually reformatted and checked for bad sectors.

as what youve said, you already formatted it and yet it still says there is a corrupt system file.

when i say "manually formatted" you have to clearly take the hard drive out and format it using another pc or ps3.

Hard disk's file system is corrupted.

Most likely your hard drive is completely corrupted. It could be as simple as a new Hard Drive replacement or as complicated as a motherboard issue.

Corrupt File System

Well i guess that either your file system is corrupt or your disk is formatted into a filesystem that it's not supported by the backup programs. I don't really know what filesystem is your disk formatted into but usually the FAT32 and FAT16 are the most failsafe file systems for Windows.
So copy/paste the data you don't want to loose and then go to
My computer -> right click on the drive icon -> format and then choose fat 32. Then try backing up your laptop again.
