SOURCE: paper jam

Very frustrating ... checked all over for remaining jams - but the message "paper jam" just won't go away after clearing a paper jam. Eventually, it goes away but no way to predict how long it will take!

SOURCE: Non stop paper jams

I had this same problem. I finally noticied that the problem occurred consistently on the right side of the paper feed. I discovered that a little part along the right side of my drum unit (just inside the paper feed area) had disconnected and was loose inside the drum unit itself. Once this little part was placed back into it's rightful place, VOILA! Problem solved! Hope this helps!

SOURCE: paper feed jams. feeds from lower tray, turns 180

while keeping the paper .. ensure that it is properly stacked... fan the paper and ensure that it is not stuck to each other.. also open the printer cover and see if any paper is stuck inside..

Try to open the rear access door ,and clean the paper roller with slightly damp lint free cloth

Epson stylus c48 paper not loaded correctly error

@Linzi_mackie
"c48 not loading..."
Check that paper is not curled at leading edge.
Some printers are finicky about exact straightness.
Otherwise check:
Paper not glossy - roller-gripper may be doing a 'wheelie' on the edge.
Rubber gripper not worn down - the pickup roller usually has one or more rubber 'rings' around the roller to grab & feed paper by friction.
If all else fails, open cover and inspect gearing to roller, broken brackets which can cause misalignment.
Try running 'open' and see what happens.

Clive.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer Paper feed will not drop down every time, and is making a grinding noise. Is replacing that piece available?

Hi. You leave a question mark?

I don't understsand what you mean by Papaer feed will not "DROP DOWN"?

I to have the same printer, the paper feeds from the tray (s) from below.

A little more info please?

The grinding in the system trying to feed through the paper.

Just a thought, turn the printer round find the release levers and check the internals for paper jam.

My printer keeps showing the message "Clear paper jam, then press (check mark), there is no jammed paper in the printer.

If I load my paper at the 'proper' height, it will not feed. If I push the paper down too far, I get a 'paper jam' message. What works for me (even though it's a royal pain) is to feed 1 sheet of paper at a time. Put 1 sheet in so it's level with the top of the feed tray, then gently push it down 3/4 of an inch. That works for me. Good luck.

It keeps saying paper jam why? it is not jammed/

Paper jams are reported under two conditions.

1) Paper reaches a sensor and never leaves it.

2) Paper does not reach the sensor in the time allotted.

A simple test is to put a mark on the next page that should be pulled from the paper tray. If the paper is pulled from the tray, you will find it inside the printer. If the paper fails to feed, it will be sitting in the tray where you marked it.

Cannon mf 3240 mystery error

Paper jams occur in two ways, a physical jam, this is where there is a mechanical jam of some sort. the second is a timing jam, the paper has not reached a given point in a specified period of time.
I suspect you have the second problem, what you need to check is this.
Is the paper loaded correctly? Did you fan the paper to break the production bonds? Is it good quality paper.
on the top sheet of paper in the paper tray, mark it with an X , a happy face or some thing to show it is your page. Then press copy, did it try to pick up the paper. If it did not try at all, there may be a problem with the paper feed drive system.
If it tried but failed, the feed tires are likely dirty or worn our, you can try cleaning them with some isopropal alcohol (available at drug stores) and a soft cloth if yo can reach them. remove the paper tray, or st least all of the paper, you should be able to see a set of rollers in the middle of the feed section. clean these and retry the machine

Hope this is of some help.

My brand new X5340 printer shows there is a paper jam but there isn't one. The one and only sheet it has printed was the test page. Since then, I have been unable to get rid of the "clear paper jam"...

hi
follow these steps
1.checked for and remove any obstructionsfrom paper feed tray.
2.tilt and shake printer..checked for any rattling noise..checked for any foreign objects inside printer obstructing the paper flow.
3.Take a sheet of paper ..fold it length wise 3-4 times to make it a thick.insert this into paper feed tray...move it left and right a couple of times..unplug power cable and replug it after 10 seconds...try printing ...if it does not work,,,,contact tech support 1-800-332-4120...ur printer is brand new and under warranty cover,,,they would replace it for u.

Paper doesn't feed

It could be a few things, but the times I've had similar problems it was either caused by the feed/gripper rollers in the paper trays being worn out, thus not feeding any paper or feeding half a sheet and then jamming.

Or, it could be that the elevator in your paper tray isn't lifting, but if it's taking paper it's probably the rollers.

Paper jam

Lift up the printer front a few inches using a book or a small box. The paper will them feed beautifully downhill into the roller.

PAPER JAMS

Does the fault clear when you open/close? If it does you probably don't have a jam.
Does the machine begin to try to make copies, then stop-if so it has probably failed to feed off the tray, hence the jam message. If this is the case, pull out the paper tray, check for obstructions, clean feed rollers and try again. Are there "skid marks on the paper(indicating the rolls have turned?) If so rolls could be dirty/worn. If no skid marks, can you determine if the rolls did in fact turn? Go from there
