Vacuum runs fine, then approx. 15 sec after the hose is taken out, a inhale and pop is heard, then there isn't any suction. Like a ball got caught in the intake valve. It's a Dyson DC15, 4 years old.
That popping sound is the bleed valve activating - it indicates that there is a blockage in the machine somewhere, probably in the wand if you're saying that there is no suction in the wand.
- Take the wand off the back of the machine - press the two gray buttons to separate it from the hose - hold the wand in the air and look through it - if you can't see the light coming through the other side there's a blockage in the wand - taka a long object like a meytal hanger and remove the blockage.
If that's not the problem, call the Dyson helpline for further troubleshooting, they know what they're doing.
