SOURCE: video management problem

sounds like you need to "recover" the hard drive.

Only other option you can try is to reset the camera.

SOURCE: Broken video management file/ recording failure

Although the instructions don’t make it clear, it seems to be important that the camera is turned off before you connect or disconnect the USB cable. The instructions do mention that you should not delete or rename files on the camera except in the EXT_MOV folder. The camera’s firmware is apparently quite fragile about file names and the presence of the extra hidden folders that both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems create when you delete something.

SOURCE: JVC Envirio GZ-MG21U Error Msg.

I had the same issue, but I went ahead and executed the recovery and my videos were still there. I thought I had lost one but it was actually saved/loaded to another image file in the camera which is the same one that the Demo playback file is stored in. I located it by connecting the camera to the PC going under my computer and just opening every file. After I got everything off the camera I went into the menu and executed the data clean up program. I am now scanning internet sites to see if there is a fix listed anywhere to keep it from happening again. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: JVC G-z-mg365bu video management file is broken

For broken files, everio will prompt you to recover once switched on. If you mean deleted by accident, you can use file recovery software like Final Data Enterprise and a lot more. Mostly can be recovered, sometimes 80% or 90% of your total recording. Good Luck

My JVC GZ-MG77u displays the message "Video Management File is broken. To record/playback video, recovery is required.I click yes yet it still doesn't work. How can I fix this?

Video HDD recovery is possible as long as nothing has been recorded over the original images can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

My JVC HDD GZ-MG365 will not record to the HD. It keeps coming up with an HDD error.

Try to format your HDD on the camera itself. Formatting is available in the menu. Formatting your HDD outside your unit is not recommended. Make sure to back up important files. Hope it Helps

Screen says video management file is broken

Apparently the firmware on the camera is very finicky especially if you do any deleting/renaming of movie files via windows and the USB (rather than using the camera's menu interface). My suggestion (worked for me anyway) connect via USB, explore the JVC HD, find your videos, save them on to your computer (drag and drop, or edit copy, etc) then once you've accomplished that, go into the camera's menu, then settings, find the option to FORMAT HD, do it.

This fixed my dilemma, hope it helps others out there.
